Hello,

I have macbook 4,1 without efi partition on the head of disk (200Mb).

There are any way to restore efi, or make it bootable in any other way?

I can boot on it via usb-stick with ubuntu.

Many thanks for any help!

P.S. What already done, and dont help:
1. I tried to restore disk with gpart, using gparted (it found nothing)
2. I tried to make apple rescue disk from os x 10.8.3, on running vmware - got this logo on boot: http://www.pcfriends.jp/img/support_mac79.jpg
3. I tried to boot from bootable OS X 10.7 disk, also got http://www.pcfriends.jp/img/support_mac79.jpg
4. Tried to install ubuntu on whole disk, got error "grub can not be installed"

Precisely what are you trying to do? If you are trying to install OS X on a "Real" MacBook, then the methods and tools on this site will not work. Contact Apple Support if you are having problems.

OK, support help for Real Macbook Pro can be had at http://www.tonymacx86.com/macbook-pro/

Basically, though, you should be able to insert the OS X Snow Leopard retail install DVD in the drive tray, boot, then when you hear the chime, hold down the option key and select to boot from the DVD and install Snow Leopard at the option screen. Don't need any of the tools on this site to install.

EDIT: You do have a DVD-RW superdrive in the MacBook Pro, yes?

Many thanks!

1. It is macbook, not macbook pro, it has DVD-RW
2. But it do not eject kubuntu install CD from it, in linux eject do not work
3. I try to install mountain lion from usb stick and mac display stop sign on the screen. Maybe i need to install older OS X first?

Many thanks!

You have shut down the MacBook w the Linux CD in the system and You should hold the Eject Key on the KeyBoard when you power up the MacBook that way the CD will eject (swap out for Apple DVD) and you can then repair the OS install w the OSX Install DVD.
When the Apple DVD boots up DO RUN a Disk Utilities on the HDD of the MacBook to see if anything is wrong.

Here is a layout of the different Mac Keyboards and what the keys do... what your looking for is the Midia Eject Key...
