Hi All,

My Hardware is Gigabyte Z77 and Intel Core i5-2400

Trying to use the onboard graphics, but my CPU doesn't support HD 3000 or HD 4000 so I need a graphic card like one of the ones shown in here: http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2010/...ics-cards.html

I bought the card waiting for it.

My question is this at the moment even if I don't have the card and I want to use the onboard graphics why after installing Combo Update and Multineast at reboot even if I use iboot, I do not get drivers installed like Ethernet, I want to connect to the internet, is there a workaround to temporary solve this problem?

Thanks in advance,

violanted

No you can not get intel HD2000 to work !

You need a discrete video card.

Apple only supported HD2500 at a later date in OSX LION ( but not in SL)

Hi there,

Yes thanks for your reply, I appreciate that.

I understand this, but after applying multibeast, normally you should reboot the system but before that we should remove iboot cd. Obviously as stated because HD2000 is not supported instead of removing iboot I leave the CD on, and boot to OS X SL but I see that multibeast settings and drivers are not applied consequentially I do not get the Ethernet driver to. Is that normal?

Vio....

Your hardware is Ivy Bridge meaning you have an ivy bridge CPU and an ivy bridge chipset... Z77.

Your iBoot CD should be the Ivy Bridge Iboot CD to boot the system with.
THis IBOOT CD will be used for all BOOT UP's when you have SL installed as the SL kernel has no support for Ivy or Haswell booting....meaning you will need to boot from iBoot every time.

We do not use MulTiBeast at all ... we can only use MultiBeast on earlier Intel and Sandy Bridge hardware.

So we install SL w the IVY Iboot Cd and use iBOOT again and update the base OSX to combo update 10.6.8 v 1.1 and then apply the Apple Software update 1.0 then boot again w iBOOT CD - go to the Apple Store and download our next version of OSX
Mavericks.
Your HD200 is not supported in any of the OSX versions that Apple has produced.

As to ethernet it should be working w booting using iBOOT CD unless for some strange reason the hardware on this motherboard is a not working or not one of the normal chips that will work w the Kexts in the OSX install set. A

This is why you should update your profile to include you hardware you using.

Update - you could just replace that CPU w a used or new ( if u can find them)
Intel I7 -2700K 2600K
Intel I5 -2500K 2405S
Intel I3 -2125 2103
As all of the above units have HD3000 onboard GFX. Search Ebay or other sites that sell computer stuff.

Yes but this is the issue I cannot get the ivy Iboot to work with this current board and CPU

the main board is Gigabyte Z77-DS3H LGA 1155
cpu intel core i5 2400

with this hardware I can only use normal iboot not the ivy bridge

why? CPU is not ivy bridge maybe is that the reason?

You have 2 problems - CPU is SB, board is IB. This can be made to work, but your SB CPU graphics is HD2000, which has never been supported. In order to install you need a Snow Leopard supported GPU.
Then you need to upgrade to Lion 10.7.5 or later OS X version to get support for the IB board PCH chip.
Then you will probably want to get a better GPU for the later version of OS X.

Ok a better GPU is coming I bought a discrete one!

so if I restart all from scratch when I plug in the card already suggested on previous forum I boot using normal iboot, install SL, install combo update for SL, and should Install multibeast or not? According to instructions yes but.... At that point after rebooting without iboot I should be able to see displayes and what next how should I install iboot ivy bridge or upgrade to lion? I bought lion but I need to access App Store to download it!

On Z77 board use iBoot Ivy Bridge.
install SL
Install combo update
reboot with iBoot IB
go to MAS and download Lion 10.7.5
make UniBeast or Clover USB installer
Install Lion

I underlined this issue already,

My board won't boot with iboot ivy bridge, why? It only boot with normal iboot.
Is that because the CPU is a non ivy bridge one?

I guess I must upgrade the processor to i5-2500k or i5-3470k currently running the i5-2400
