hi

Firstly, good day to all the guys and gals of the tonymacx86 community.

I'm David from Singapore.

I am trying to install MacOS 10.6 Snow Leopard on a new Intel Haswell PC 4790 based on MSI Z97 XPower AC and MSI GeForce GTX 750 TI with 32GB Crucial DDR3 and Seasonic M12II 850W PSU.

I managed to go through part of installation process. I actually was trying for two weeks with my current system but was stuck. I decided to purchase a Gigabyte GTX 750 TI thinking my graphics card was incompatible after reading some the comments here in the forum. I gave it another shot though and was happy went past the kext error messages. So in my first installation(to clarify), I used the MSI GTX 750 TI Twin Frozr. I haven't successfully booted to OS yet.

If I remember correctly, my boot flags were :
cpus=1 mach_kernel darkwake=0 PCIRootUID=1 -v -f -F

Partitioned my Samsung 500G SSD with 'Macintosh HDD'.

Now my problem is after the prompt to reset the system, I see the harddrive as Macintosh HDD(from my Ubuntu partition) but cannot boot.

I understand I need multibeast or unibeast utility.

I stayed up late Saturday night through Sunday morning. I would appreciate any input or suggestions from the MacOS X community.

Thank you very much in advance.

David

David...

Welcome.
Also its a good idea to update your user profile with your hardware info that your using so that it will post every time you post. So if you would update your user profile with that info. Thanks.

You will not use MultiBeast ( any version ) during this part of the process. Snow Leo and Haswell are not compatible due to the Issues w the CPU hardware and the fact that the SL shell has no hardware info in it for newer cpu's. The goal is to get SL working then install the SL 10.6.8 combo update and then the OSX Software update 1.0 for SL. Then get to the Apple App store and download Mavericks and Make the USB Boot drive for Mavericks w UniBeast then after that install we use MultiBeast to finalize the process.

the two links here
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1512

What is used is the Haswell IBOOT CD to boot from then select the OSX volume you installed to along with your boot switches and this should get you to the desktop.

Now I am surprised that you got that video card to work w SL.
You may have issues w that card when SL is working or after the updates. So you may want to see if you can find an older nVidia Card ... say a GT9500 or GT9800 or GT250 to 280 series. As these were the last cards that worked w SL.

We have a wiki link for video cards - http://www.tonymacx86.com/wiki/index.php/Graphics_Card_Database

See what you or your friends have in older computers that you can borrow.
