I've searched through the forums and tried the help given as best I could and still have the same problem. So here we go...

Currently installed in the machine:

GA-Z87X-UD5H
i7-4770K chip
Cooler Master RR-212E-20PK-R2 heatsink
1 corsair 16G ram chip
Sony AD-7280S-0B optical
Seagate 2Tb (partioned 300/700/1000)
Cheap-o mouse and keyboard.

BIOS things:
Bios updated to F9
Optical set to boot first
Sata is set to ACHI
No HPET option

Other:

I used Burn to make my iBoot Haswell disc, 3 times

So the problem is, I put disc in machine, start it up and I get "Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press any key" I've even brought up the F12(?) boot menu and tried that with same result.

What's going on here? RAM and/or HD too big or is there something I've overlooked? Any help is much appreciated

Using DVD or CD for the iBoot? DVD will not work.

What a Name ....
Ok LordandMaster... NOT

As to the HPET question most motherboards these days do not have HPET selection as this is enabled by default " Usually " and as most windows sales these days a long w the CPU are all 64 bit this is the reason why. Its still good to check the screens for it...in the bios.

Ok not sure how you made the CD with the download iBOOT file but the most common mistake is; that it's possible that you didn't expand the file to get to the ISO file that we use to make the CD with.

When you download the IBOOT file it is in a compressed state and needs to be expanded. This can be done w windows Explorer.
Once you have that file expanded to a folder you will see several files in the folder, one with an ISO extension, this is the file we use.
Windows can burn this file to a CD if you want too. As to a 3rd party program that you can use - I use Image Burn!

If you downloaded this to a MAC you can use 3rd party utilities as well. or OSX.

1 CD came from my friends mac, used Burn. The other two came from my roomates PC. Burned the iso not the zip file.

No HPET option in Bios.

I swapped out the hd with a western digital 500G drive I had laying around and popped in a 4G memory chip to see if that may help. It didn't and the problem still persists.

Any other ideas, tips, suggestions or troubleshooting advice?

F12 at boot, select Px (where x = SATA port your optical drive is connected) name of drive (or name of iBoot Haswell CD is possible) and hit enter. If still get the same error, you did not burn the iBoot Haswell .iso properly or it was corrupted somehow.

Post a pic of your selections at the F12 boot screen

Not MuiLoard&Master

Whoa .. Nelly Hold the Horse's.....

If your using a so call CD from your friends Mac... then we have several issues ....

Most important is that these CD's that are shipped w a Mac (back in the days when Apple did this ) are restore CD'd not the complete OSX Install DVD.

WE MUST use the OFFICIAL OSX SNOW LEOPARD DVD for install of OSX on hardware. We can not use the Mac restore CD's.

The OFFICIAL OSX DVD is over 4GB of data - if this is not what you have it cant be used.

Now as to using ur friends OSX license .... not cool dude its only 20 bucks.

You will need to spend 20 bucks to get it -

http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard

Free shipping gets to your door in 48 hours... More or less.... YMMV!!!!!
