Hi there

I am a noob at this so need a bit of help please. In fact first machine I have ever built.

System is:
Gigabyte z87x-ud5h
i5 4670k
GEFORCE GTX760
Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 8gb
Samsung 840evo SSD 128gb
Corsair CX600M PSU

All as recommended in March Custo Mac Pro build

I have got as far as loading snow leopard and running the 10.6.8 Combo upgrade and then run multibeast. However on trying to re-boot from ssd it just hangs on the apple screen. Tried it using a Seagate IDE disk as well but same problem. Look at various articles and tried various boot flags.
Only thingI canno chang eon my BIOS is the VT-d as it is greyed out so I can't disable it.In classic mode it doesn't even appear. Only mention that because it looks like a few people have suggested disabling it.

Please help, I have been at this every evening for a week and getting nowhere. Threatening to go back to windows!

The guide for installing SL with iBoot+MultiBeast was written assuming the OS supported the hardware you were installing on. There is no support for Haswell hardware in 10.6, so forget MultiBeast - you don't have support in the kernel and it will never boot from HDD. Just use the iBoot Haswell CD to boot with, go to the MAS and download Mavericks and install it - see the guide for installing 10.9.

Thanks Going Bald

That saved me endless repeated circles. Was still having trouble installing mavericks but found out that buying a proper HDMI cable rather than using a coinverter to dsub solved my issue (messed up sccreen with grey lines). I am now posting this from my new Hackintosh!!! Thanks again and to all for a great site.

My only problem now is my GEOFORCE GTX760 graphics card is not being detected (don't think it ever was) :( Fans come on like mad but get no signal when connecting to monitor. Tried other PCIe slot and still the same. If you have any advice would be appreciated. Will also post help on the relevant forum section.

Thanks again.:)

I doubt that your GTX 760 is supported in SL - Works fine in Mavericks though.

Good Luck

Thanks P1lgrim but actually no signal when using Mavericks either.

Sorry build updated on my profile.

I think so. Tried setting it to each PCIe slot with no success. Monitor led goes green as if detecting soemething then says no signal and goes into sleep. Mavericks does not detect a PCI card installed

Plug the card in to PCI slot 1, or just any of them and look which one it is. In the bios set it to the one it is plugged into.

Are you sure you have the power cabled plugged in correctly? Are the fans on the card spinning?
