just installed snow leopard, need help

Hello i have just finished installing snow leopard on my pc. But i have no sound or ethernet and my graphics look bad how can o fix these? Im new to this over than this my snow leopard works.

combo update from 10.6.3 to 10.6.8 (you might need to download on another machine)

You have 2 problems - SL has no support for Haswell Z87 boards and the gfx card is not supported in SL, either.
You need to boot with the iBoot Haswell CD, do the combo update to get the app store, purchase and download Mavericks and follow http://www.tonymacx86.com/374-unibeast-install-os-x-mavericks-any-supported-intel-based-pc.html to install Mavericks. suggest you use the internal gfx on the CPU to install and only put the 7870 in when you get Mavericks up and running.

i cant get mavericks without the Ethernet working tho and what will the 10.6.8 update do?

As I said, you will have to use another machine to do your downloads. There is no support for the Killer E2205 NIC in any version of OS X. Once you get 10.6.3 up and running you can add a network/WiFi card. Google for a network/WiFi card that works with SL 10.6.3 and install it so you can get online.

You update 10.6.3 to 10.6.8 so you can get the Mac app store. Then you go to the MAS and purchase/download Mavericks.

i have a new motherboard the gigabyte ud4h i boot up snow leopard and the ethernet works then i tried the update via check for update and when i go to re-boot i get a white screen with an apple logo. so i then did a new clean install and updated via combo and now have the same problem and stuck on a white screen with a apple logo. what can i do now?

remove the 7870, boot into BIOS and make First Init Device = IGPU (internal graphics)
set internal gfx memory to 64M, save&exit and continue boot.

I have done that it is now booting, i have updated and downloades mavericks but unibeast is not working and at the end after selecting mavericks in the tick box and press continue type my password in nd then it says failed what should i do next? Should i run multibeast for snow leopard? And if so what should i install?

First off need to know some stuff.
Haswell hardware is not compatible w Snow Leopard, So what we do is to load OSX SL then Download the 10.6.8 COMBO update it then download the Mavericks file !

We do not use the Apple Software Update service as this is made to work on REAL MACS not hacks.
So we don't use that service. Infact if you get SL running turn that off.

Now We do not use MULTIBEAST for SNOW LEO on this hardware either.

You will use the iBOOT HASWELL CD for SNOW LEO for all boot up processes. You will need to use the Onboard video as Going Bald has stated.

Once you get the MAVERICKS file downloaded from the Apple APP store. THen you use the UNIBEAST for Mavericks as listed in the GUIDEBEAST section of the GUIDES.

You must understand that all of these procedures were written some time ago and only apply in general terms.

You must get SL w combo update working on your hardware and then create apple account download mavericks make USB thumb Drive to boot from w UNIBEAST.

So from another computer w a USB drive you need to get these files from Apple.

ONce you have Sl 10.6.3 installed you will need to install the combo update file
copy to desktop and install

reboot

your on 10.6.8 then you copy the Software update to the desktop and install

reboot

See if you can connect to Apple App store - login - download Mavericks

Download fro TonyMac the correct UNIBEAST file to the desktop and then make the USB drive - you will need an 8 GB thumb drive that you can prepare per the GUIDEBEAST

I have now just installed mavericks useing my hack the only problem now is i have to boot with -x And it will boot with onboard graphics but has no sound or ethernet and looks bad, if i boot with -x with my 7870xt i get a black screen what do i do next and also why do i have to boot using -x? Im slowly geting there and learning just stuck on this last bit thanks for all the help so far tho.

thanks totenkopf4 for the info. i just updated to mavericks as just stated i have to use my usb with my-hack o to boot tho. i have read about a boot loader to auto boot to mac how do i do that as well as fixing my gpu and sound and ethernet out? thanks for the help so far also why can i boot only typeing -x before i choose to boot mavericks?
