GA-P67A-UD3P-B3 + i7 2600K some minor tweeking

Hello, i got my parts today, and i have successfully installed all...

My build is:

i7 2600k 3.4Ghz (didnt oc it, no need for that, yet )
Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD3P-B3 (F2 Bios, still didnt install windows so i can update it to F4)
2 x 4GB Kingston hyperX 1600mhz. ( i had to change memory multiplayer from 13.33 t to 16 in bios, since it worked on 1333mhz not 1600mhz)
Saphire 5770 1GB DDR5 128bit
Vertex2 SSD 60GB connected on SATA3 Port (to bad i didnt buy Vertex3 )
1x1TB HDD for data, also connected on 2nd SATA3 port.
and 2 x 250GB HDD . one is for MacData ( will use it for storing some non important apps, or install crap games, aps on it and use it for download HDD) and 2nd will be used for music and on 2nd partition for Win7.
PSU is 550W

So all work like charm, i foloved this install guide here:

After booting 1st time on mac, i installed items folowing that guide. And now i have few question

First Question: How can i be surre that my Graphic card is properly installed, i now can change resolution ull see SS of my graphic info page.

Second Question: I did same thing as in thread i folowed but in my sata Serial-ATA tab it says UNKNOWN AHCI STANDARD CONNTROLER
is this gona affect my performance or something like that and is there any way to make it 100% working.

Third Question: I like to listen to music while working, and since i have 5.1 speekers i cant use them now, only 2 speekers at one time... :S
this speekers i use: http://www.amazon.com/Genius-SW-HF5-1-dark-wood-110V-US-Theater/dp/B000ODWQMS not surre if its 100% same model, but im using it on AC3 port... its cable from speekers to 3 headphone jeeks on end...

I tryd to make AGGREGATE device, and i made all speekrs working ( to use all chanels) but that only work in test, when music plays in iTunes on youtube only 2 speekers works only again
So is there any way to make "FILL" so sound can be destributed tru all speekers, not only 2 at the time, is this posible to do, or not :S


Fourth Question: Is there something elase i need to do or install so i can have "Mac Pro" clone, since i need to start working ASP. :s


Also i want to point that: sleep works, usb3 ports works, font panel headphone works, usb3 on front also works, and is there any way i can chack my temps in mac :S

AND i need also help from one of you good ppl, can you please go to gigabyte website and download latest (F4 Bios for my motherboard) and extract it, since i cant open it on my mac since its in EXE format

Hello, i managed to make 5.1 sound but only files (music) and movies which have AC3 Play well on all speekers at the time, is there any method to make STEREO/MONO TO AC3 simulator so i can use all speekers, same stuff like FILL ON win7 in control panel of sound.


Also, i my AUTOSLEEP dont work :S normal sleep when i press button is working well but when i put it on autosleep after few min, it wont go to sleep, even with all apps of (only iStats menu working) is there any way to fix this....

Also im gona repeat my question about AHCI is "UNKNOWN AHCI STANDARD CONNTROLER" gona make any problems :S or i can run sistem normal even it sayd its unknown. :S please helo me with this.

Unknown ACHI Controller is simply cosmetic. It is running at full speed. I would install TRIM Enabler for your drives.

To see if your graphics card is installed correctly, try and open Geekbench or DVD Player, if that works then it is installed correctly.

As far as the audio, if you have Rev 1.0 (NOT 1.1), install the 5.1 enabler that is a sticky on all forums for AC892. If you are using AC889, you cant.

I have instaled TRIM Enabler allready x) and it works.

Well my MB is rev 1.1 so i guess i cant do nothing now regarding the 5.1 sound... :S

I tested Graphic Card in Geekbanch, xBanch and Cinebench and i get high scores on all, so i guess card is instaled and working 100%.

Now only problem left is with AUTOSLEEP and i cant find how to make it work...

Are you using a DSDT?

I have the same mobo with you and it is easy to tune your OSX.

About Autosleep, you can download "PleaseSleep" to do this job.

About the sound, you can follow tony's guide, the chip is ALC889 on P67A-UD3P.

I know after searching internet i found about that APP for forcing sleep, but now i have more problems to...



I just saw that my sistem is runing in 32bit mod, how i can make it to run in 64bit....

shuld i add this

in com.apple.Boot.plist, will that work? :S


And also, when my mac is in sleep more then 1h when i wake him up, my internet stops to work, so i need or to unplug network cable, or to reset my adsl modem.... any one have that prob?

I come back here to look for some advises.

Since i was busy working i didn't update my mac from 10.6.7 to 10.6.8 yet.

So im gona do it now, so i will like to know few things.

1. Is it better to install new/clean Mac OS X install combo update to 10.6.8.
2. Or i will be better to upgrade it from current version?

If option 1. is better is there any way to keep my current settings and applications, without installing them all over again.

Since i used many apps for work, and dont want to mess with them or lose data/settings from them, can some one point me the way how to restore current settings to new/clean installed mac. I already did make Full Hard Backup where is my mac installed, and also have full T.M. backup to.

In case 2nd option is better is there any steps which i should do before upgrading like delete something, disable kexts (drivers) etc.

Also i already copyd MB 3.7.3 and Mac os x 10.6.8 combo update to USB, i burned new iBoot to CD, and made all backup's.

Please some one give me some advice. Thank you.

ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin.kext How to remove it?
Also do i do that before installing update, or after i install it but before reboot?

I have backup all allready as HDD Image (dmg) and TimeMachine backup to. x)
