I though I would start a thread specifically about products useful for cleaning plastics. To kick this off here is:

What other products do you recommend for cleaning/polishing and restoring (removing scratches) from plastics and acrylics

Eastwood deals in auto restoration. They have polishing products for plastics. Some unusual tools also.

I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but retr0bright doesn't seem to be working for me. I applied it to some of my iMac G3 parts and I didn't notice a difference. No one seems to state the amount of time it needs to spend in the sun. Mine wasn't outside for more than 90min due to the extreme heat and it may have compromised the compound.

However, I have found that simply using a headlight restore kit or some fine grit wet sand paper works well to remove minor scratches on smooth surfaces. I then followed up with either a gloss or flat clear on my G3 parts. They look nice and I would do it again. However, I'm still wanting to simply de-yellow my G3 Power Mac tower to get the most out of the vintage case.
