Highpoint 2720SGL WORKS Perfectly in a Hackintosh

@Csacmelb: Did you make any progress on this? I too spent quite a bit of time on this trying to get my card recognised in Yosemite without any success; I'm also using the Rocket 2720 HBA and not the RocketRAID 2720 RAID card.

Native OS X supported HBA/RAID card with SMART data passthrough?

I'm using an ATTO H308 in my file server (8 SATA via 2x mini-SAS breakout cables) at the moment, but it doesn't provide SMART data passthough. I'd like to keep an eye on the SMART data for all my drives, not just the ones connected through the onboard SATA ports. Anyone has experience with a...

Any update on the status of your build?

    Supermicro X9SPV-M4-3QE-O: QM77 + i7-3612QE

I have an always-on media + backup + occasional VM server running on an ASRock Z77E-ITX + i5-3570K setup in a very tightly packed case with 12 2.5" drives. I have the opportunity to pick up a Supermicro ITX board with the QM77 chipset and embedded mobile i7-3612QE (4C/8T, 35W TDP). In...

Crashes always preceded by kernel[0]: zalloc did gc

Excellent. I'm glad I posted here - after spending 3 weeks banging my head against the wall wondering what I did to break my machines and finding nothing useful in Google, I was so sure at one point it was just me, and was this close to wiping everything and doing a fresh install (which would...

Crashes always preceded by kernel[0]: zalloc did gc

@ppohio Good to hear! In other news, I checked out kozlek's FakeSMC repo. Here's hoping the leak(s) that killed us have been fixed :)

Crashes always preceded by kernel[0]: zalloc did gc

Just to be sure nothing got left behind, can you delete FakeSMC from S/L/E and empty trash before you install from MB v5.3.1?

Crashes always preceded by kernel[0]: zalloc did gc

I just installed it using MB v5.3.1 (I stored a copy) - grab it from the Downloads section. I'm guessing there are some hardware configurations that aren't dealt with properly in the latest FakeSMC, and memory is leaking somewhere - for example, it identifies the core frequencies from my...

Crashes always preceded by kernel[0]: zalloc did gc

Ok, so I don't want to get too far ahead of myself, but it looks like FakeSMC v5.2.725 (or one of its plugins, not sure which) from MB v5.4.3 was the problem for me. 8 hours and counting, and all my machines are showing non-crazy wired memory behavior. Rolling back to v5.1.61 from MB...

Crashes always preceded by kernel[0]: zalloc did gc

Sorry, didn't get notifications that new replies had been posted so I didn't check back here for a few days :) All my three 24/7 running machines are now exhibiting the same behavior - my office workstation had KPed for the first time when I went in this morning. What's more, I forgot to keep...

Crashes always preceded by kernel[0]: zalloc did gc

Like you, I don't really have the time to spend on this right now. As a stopgap measure, I'm scheduling reboots every 48h on my server. Oh and I tried to give myself more breathing room by replacing the 8GB stick I removed from it to bring the total onboard RAM to 16GB. On the desktop, I keep an...

Crashes always preceded by kernel[0]: zalloc did gc

More historical data: From my server: From my desktop: For those reading who are not using iStat, blue/red/grey = wired/active/inactive. Incidentally, my desktop experienced this problem for the first time yesterday: I noticed that kernel_task was holding on to 6+GB of memory at...

Crashes always preceded by kernel[0]: zalloc did gc

I moved the system to an ASRock Z77E-ITX + i3-2105 to rule out issues with the Realtek 8111E, ASM1061 PCIE->SATA adapter, motherboard hardware. Using samisnake's patched BIOS, native power management enabled and using MacPro3,1 system definition. Crashed again after 2 days of uptime...

Crashes always preceded by kernel[0]: zalloc did gc

Kernel panics triggered by zalloc unable to alloc memory - kernel[0]: zalloc did gc My Mountain Lion file server build has been rock solid (30d+ uptime easy between scheduled reboots) till recently (about 3 weeks ago?), when it started freezing randomly. Servers logs indicate that crashes...

OS X Server Caching Server does not work

Same base issue as with iMessage on Hackintoshes failing from Dec onwards. Check the forums for how to fix iMessage - that got Caching Server working for me.

    Dell U2713HM USB 3.0

It isn't just you - I have the same issue with my U2713HM hub, except that USB3.0 drives mount, then disconnect after about 30s. It's odd because the hub is supposed to be powered. I've not had any issues with my previous Dell monitor hubs (2408, 1908), but those were USB2.0 of course.

GTX 650 working OOB (mostly, other than iTunes video playback)

Do you have any problems with Youtube playback? My entire display freezes up when playing Youtube videos. I can still ssh in and trigger a shutdown, so it looks like it's just the graphics layer that's frozen. Steam games, DVD player, etc all work fine though. I'm running the 1GB Gigabyte...

Unknown AHCI Standard Controller (INTEL SERIES 7)

Nevermind, just found the threads re: MB5.0.2 + TRIM on 10.8.1 :) @MacMan, I just replaced my Zotac H67 board with a Zotac H77, and in addition to the Unknown AHCI Standard Controller showing up in System Information, I can't get TRIM support enabled for my Samsung 830 and Crucial M4 via...
