    NVMe in external enclosures disconnecting

I haven't noticed the lights flickering... otherwise, I'm not sure how else I would test for that, other than the knowledge that my original 2 NVME drives in external enclosures do not disconnect when connected to the same computer. And my testing included swapping drives around to different...

    NVMe in external enclosures disconnecting

Cool. Thank you trs96! OTHER THAN THE LACK OF DRAMA... I can't see myself spending that much for such slow drives, though I suppose to rationalize it, they do come with their own enclosures. Oh well. So to wrap this thread up, to summarize I've run 54 setup permutations in an effort to eke out...

    NVMe in external enclosures disconnecting

dang, that's amazing. Is it true SSD prices are only going to go up in 2024, or do you think something in the ballpark for this WD might happen again? Let me ask a slightly different question. What are the cheapest 4TB SATA SSD drives I could get that should play nicely with MacOS? I'm thinking...

Though the time I've spent testing before returning drives... more than offset what I would have paid additionally for the WD SN850X for instance.

    NVMe in external enclosures disconnecting

Thanks for your prompt response! I am definitely looking for recommendations but on the other hand, I thought I was going with the safe choice initially by buying more of the Silicon Power drives that I had good experience with. That SN770 doesn't appear to come in 4TB sizes - any other WD...

    NVMe in external enclosures disconnecting

Hi all, I've been trying to use ORICO NVMe SSD Enclosure 40Gbps enclosures with 4TB drives and have had mixed success. I first bought a 1TB WD_BLACK SN750I used with a slow-ish 10GBps ORICO enclosure, which has worked reliably. Then bought a 4TB Silicon Power XS70 (with the big heat sink) for...

GA-Z97X-Gaming 7 integrated graphics glitches, system crashes, Chrome input lag

I truly appreciate the help in these forums, but Mods... putting feedback / instructions in my profile is a bit subtle, I only just noticed it. I had the onboard graphics version listed in the original post, but I'll update the profile now.

GA-Z97X-Gaming 7 integrated graphics glitches, system crashes, Chrome input lag

I turned off sleep, which seems to have corrected the spontaneous crash/reboot when the computer has been idle for a while, which is good but I'd still appreciate some help correcting this problem and the graphics issue. Is anyone able to assist? I'm wondering whether I'm just not explaining or...

GA-Z97X-Gaming 7 integrated graphics glitches, system crashes, Chrome input lag

Regarding my crashing issue, I had mentioned that it seemed like some issues had occurred when I hadn't touched the mouse or keyboard for a while. I just experienced this again - the computer had been sitting idle for at least an hour, in terms of user input, and as I started using the computer...

    GA-B75M-D3P won't post with RX 580 installed

Glad to see you found success! I hadn't looked at this thread in a long time and coincidentally you responded fairly recently; for whatever reason I haven't received a subscription alert in email since 2018. I think I did just get the BIOS upgraded the old-fashioned way by loading the file on a...

Flashed BIOS of GA-B75M-D3P rev1.0, reboots at Apple load screen

OOOOHHH KAY... I stepped back. I went into the BIOS and loaded Optimized Defaults, and the ONLY thing I changed was SATA Mode Selection to AHCI. I was able to boot into my Mojave installer, so I installed Mojave on an old 64GB SSD drive over (SATA to USB converter). So, I decided to try boot...

Flashed BIOS of GA-B75M-D3P rev1.0, reboots at Apple load screen

Next round of attempts. I went through and added each of the memory fix files to the \EFI\CLOVER\drivers64UEFI directory of my boot drive. Screenshots above show the results after trying the OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000 driver. I did make sure to delete the old ones before trying the new ones.
