More specifically how to format a text file to put it under de patch button in MaciASL. Creating a working patch takes more than that like good knowledge of BIOS, DSDT and SSDT and how they interact. Good knowledge of ACPI would come in handy too. But that link points to usefull information too.

How should a text file be formatted for successfully patching a DSDT or SSDT by using it with MaciASL's Patch button. I see some /n placed, but where to put them? It probably also needs info where to place the patch in the DSDT or SSDT?

Booting verbose resulted in a panic. After removing the 2nd drive I got a normal boot and I got the enclosed panic report. I hope it gives some info.

You are right. The result was a panic after reboot. I have some lines of code I like to inject to get brightness control working. The PNLF patch is already in place. What is the proper way to inject the lines. I tried MacASLs patch button but this doesn't see it. The apply button is greyed out.

Thanks, I understand. Maybe there are still bugs in PBI as support for Elitebook ****w is still experimental. I guess the troubleshooting files are created right after PBI CE is finished? Better to put them on an USB stick before a reboot then.

The troubleshooting files were from an earlier EC installation where the laptop booted to a black screen after running PBI CE. I posted about this a few posts back. It was the reason why I reinstalled EC. Maybe you can see what I did wrong.

I re-downloaded the installer and recreated the USB, using another new Sandisk 8 GB stick. Unfortunately with the same result. Not getting closer to a solution.

Will do RM. Is there a way to check if the downloaded installer is corrupted in any way? What should its file-size be? Or is there an MD5 code for it? My guess is that downloading over WiFi is as reliable as wired.
