Is My Custom-Built PC able to Run Hackintosh?

I am pretty sure I get that same PowerManagement error on my working Hackintosh. If you get this far then I think there is something up with your video setup. Try paring down your video cards and running explicitly on either the NVidia or the internal Intel card. Basically I would focus on...

    uni beast failed posting log

I'm having the same problem and I'm not sure exactly where the solution is to be found on the page that you link to. I'm running Lion 10.7.4 and don't have any options to change any application security settings: And if you're referring to the Apple Software Installer Update, Apple...

    SABERTOOTH X58 5870/6870 Lion 10.7.4 KP failures

Do you happen to know if your CPU is throttling down and doing any sort of power management? My i7 920 seems to be stuck at 2.6ghz no matter what I do, just probing to see if other i7 920 P6T Deluxe users are having the same issue.

    SABERTOOTH X58 5870/6870 Lion 10.7.4 KP failures

titan126, thank you for supplying your DSDT :) Actually, I figured out what the problem was. It was really really REALLY stupid on my part: viewtopic.php?f=169&t=61309 Everything's working after I fixed my dumb \"ACPI\" KP. For me I, personally, I would have waited but the new Safari 5.2...

10.7.4? Swapped ACPI kext? Got "Unable to find driver" KP?

If you're getting this KP after swapping out your AppleACPIPlatform.kext: Unable to find driver for this platform: \"ACPI\". Make sure you didn't do what I just realized I did (in bulletpoints to keep me from going on and on): - If you downloaded the kext from here, you probably downloaded it...

    SABERTOOTH X58 5870/6870 Lion 10.7.4 KP failures

Hi titan126, I also have the P6T Deluxe, i7 920. Can you perhaps post the DSDT.aml file you're using? I replaced AppleACPIPLatform.kext with the one that is recommended and I now get a different kernel panic immediately after Chimera begins the boot cycle: Unable to find driver for this...

Having same problem. Replaced AppleACPIPlatform.kext, updated Chimera, instant kernel panic with Unable to find driver for this platform: \"ACPI\". i7 920, ASUS P6T Deluxe (v1). Very curious to hear if you were able to solve your problem.

Quick question for HD 6850 & 6870 "Lion Users"

My 6870 was out of the box compatible, didn't have to install a thing.

    Gigabyte Radeon HD 6670

Yeah, I figured this was the case. It's definitely a good enough card if you are looking for something cheap that is a drop in replacement, I just have a bad taste in my mouth from the DPMS issue that I'm trying to keep everyone informed in case it is important to someone. I have absolutely no...

    Gigabyte Radeon HD 6670

I don't want to nitpick, but you do not get everything. DPMS sleep is still broken as far as I know. This feature was important enough to me that I ended up ditching the 6670 for a 6870. Having to worry about remembering whether I turned off my monitor if I walked away from my computer for any...

    Radeon HD 6870 problems

I wouldn't rule out an actual defect in the card. XFX is on the low end of manufacturers if I recall correctly, lots of cost cutting measures. If you have the receipt I would consider possibly swapping the card out for another, even if it is another XFX card, just to rule out a defective card.

    Radeon HD 6870 problems

This is unrelated to MacOS, but I was experiencing lockups with my 6870 when I had insufficient power going to the card. I only had PCIe power cable on my 500w PSU so I bought a Molex->PCIe adapter which I used to feed the other power connector, but it locked up constantly. I bought a new...

Shall I return my Gigabyte AMD Radeon HD 6870 gpu???

My Powercolor 6870 worked out of the box. All that was needed was GE=Y. Maybe try a different brand of 6870? It was a world of difference from mt 6670 which needed hacking and extra Chimera flags to get working.

Building a gaming pc, but considering Hackintosh.

N'thing the 6870 advice. I just replaced the poorly-chosen-but-recommended 6670 with a 6870 and it works like a dream. No Chimera flags necessary, no nothing. Found the framebuffer first time, just needs GraphicEnabler=YES.

    Gigabyte Radeon HD 6670

Sadly I think I'm at my limit with this 6670. Between the DPMS bug and now this, I think I'm just going to try to find a more supported card on Craigslist. Not at all a knock against the Chimera devs, a lot of great work went into supporting the 6670, unfortunately I need a working system and...

    10.7.2 killed graphics acceleration

10.7.2 + Chimera 1.5.4 + Radeon 6670 also results in a black screen after the system tries to go into graphic mode (login screen). I had to set GraphicEnabler to NO to get the system to come up. Since this is the exact same setup that worked with 10.7.1 (I have ATIPorts=3 set) I can only assume...

Radeon HD 6670 shuts off on login screen after upd to 10.7.2

Gigabyte Radeon HD 6670 Chimera 1.5.4 MacOS X 10.7.2 After upgrading to 10.7.2 my video dies as soon as MacOS tries to go to the graphical login screen. ATIPorts 3 is set in my org.chameleon.boot.plist. This was working fine before the install so I have to assume there is some incompatibility...
