    AppleHDA or any other modified kext need to be repatched after most updates as it replaced them with newer versions.Other than that update is very good.

    Try to connect your drive to another port. Nothing helped me but disabling disk sleep. I dont think sleep matters much as constant spinup and sleep in theory should damage a HDD more then constant spin.
