Jackheads PowerMac G5 -> ATX Mod

Holy balls, looks great! How's the temps with that giant ass rad?

GPU not appearing in HW Monitor

Hmm, that didn't work. I deleted all the files I could find associated with HWMonitor, reinstalled, and nothing. Maybe I could manually install the GPUSensors.kext file?

GPU not appearing in HW Monitor

Hello there, I recently got my first graphics card after living off of internal graphics for two years (woot!). And while the extreme boost in performance in all of my intensive applications is really nice, I was noticing that neither temps, clock, or voltage were appearing in hardware monitor...

Anyone have gotten their 900 series Nvidia card working with Yosemite yet?

Worked like a charm! Full acceleration in OSX!

Anyone have gotten their 900 series Nvidia card working with Yosemite yet?

I think I figured out my problem, I was using nv_disablw=1 instead of nvda_drv=1. I'll try that when I get home.

Anyone have gotten their 900 series Nvidia card working with Yosemite yet?

Are ypu using clover? I havent had the time to do it, but to the best of my knowledge, everyone who had success used clover.

Anyone have gotten their 900 series Nvidia card working with Yosemite yet?

I got a GTX 970 g1 but I'm having trouble getting it to work all the way. So far #ramgate is quite a bit more of an issue for me than other people since I only have access to 7mb of vram XD. I am able to boot with nv_disable=1, installed both the Cuba and Web drivers, but neither of them have...

    Remove Verbose Boot

Hey everyone, in the beginnings of my current hack, I was having some stability issues. So I decided to install the verbose boot so I could see what was going on when I had troubles. Now I no longer have issues and I want to get rid of verbose boot from my boot.plist. Would I need to delete this...

    Poor Stability

So, I bit the bullet and wiped my ssd for a clean install. So far so good, but I am still limited to 6gb of ram. Now when I try to boot with 8gb, I get a deadbeef error instead of a kernel trap, but another quirk has arose. Both the BIOS and the about this mac window say my cpu is overclocked to...

    Poor Stability

Good news, everyone! I am able to confirm that adding the cpu power management patch and booting with 6gb of RAM, the system is stable with the occasional freeze during boot. The only weird things that happen is of course kernel panics and some kexts and drivers not loading with 8gb (I would...

    3D Printing

Me? Brave? That is debatable. Anyway, what exactly do you do with that rep2? You mentioned product design and prototyping, but for what? To answer your question, I chose to build a questionably cheap reprap kit because I am a highschool student with very limited funds. Believe me, if I had...

    Poor Stability

Hmm, today I was able to boot with 6gb of ram (6144 MB) and it is stable with my cpu overclocked (stock clocks made it less stable in mavericks, and it doesn't seem to impact Yosemite, so I left it). I installed the patched apple cpu power management kext because I noticed that most of the...

    Poor Stability

Hey everyone, today I installed Yosemite and unfortunately, I am still having kernel traps/panics. I looked it up, and I wasn't able to find much. A lot of the threads just kind of end with out the person finding a solution, but I did find this one...

    Poor Stability

Well, I tried to disable V-Td, but the uefi wouldn't allow me, and V-Td wasn't even displayed when I switched to classic view. Today, when I attempted a reboot for about the fourth time, I noticed that the panic said "kernel trap" and then went on with its rambling about directories and cpu...

    Poor Stability

Hmm, I followed this guide http://www.tonymacx86.com/golden-builds/106807-updated-wildwillows-haswell-build-ga-z87x-oc-i7-4770k-hd4600-gt-640-a.html but my system definition is macpro 3,1 instead of imac 14,2. Now I have been trying to use OSX 10.9, but it might help to try 10.10. Also I read...

    Poor Stability

When your system locks up, do you get a read out that looks like it's from the console that covers whatever was being displayed? This happens sometimes with mine, most often when I had booted with verbose, but it is inconsistent. The most recent one that I paid attention to (uploaded a picture...

    Poor Stability

Too expand a bit, after about a week into an installation of OSX, the computer will fail to boot. Booting into the installer and trying to repair the boot device with disk utility tells me that the data on the drive is corrupted and that I need to reformat and reinstall. This has happened with...

    3D Printing

Along side my hack, I have also taken on the project of building a RepRap 3D printer. Just kinda wondering how many other people here are into the art of having a machine build things for you. Currently mine is not working due to some bad electronics:banghead:, but I am working with the seller...

    Poor Stability

Well I'm not sure if I ever was getting a dead beef error, because I noticed in that post, it mentioned "dead beef" in the top line on the screen. Mine never has. I did notice it did say "possible memory corruption" which I have never noticed in previous freezes, but I don't boot with verbose by...
