I'll be heading out soon so I won't be able to tackle this until either tonight or tomorrow morning. I think I'm going to try and remove the El Capitan drive and see if it will boot off of the Windows drive all on it's own. Once in there I will try and convert to UEFI. Thanks for the help...
Well I hadn't tried hitting F12 on boot and I just did. Unfortunately this is the message I get:
Reboot and Select proper Boot device
or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key_
Thanks for the info. I'm pretty sure Windows is installed Legacy. I will try to convert to UEFI. I just have to find some tutorials on how to do this. Thanks again. Nothing I've done so far seems to work, so this might be the only way.
Did you end up converting the Windows drive to UEFI?
I recently finished installing El Capitan on my system using Clover. It was a clean install I reformatted the install drive and went from there. The problem I'm having is similar to the OP's, I was getting a blinking cursor any time I selected the Windows OS. I went to Clover Configurator and...
Just an FYI for anyone looking to change their system description. I was running system definition iMac 12,2 and tried switching over to MacPro 5,1, but once I restarted my system I got a kernel panic and the system would not boot. I found a way to revert to system definition iMac 12,2 and it...
Thanks for making this post. I'm glad I read it, as this will solve my speakers "popping" after prolonged silence. After changing the profile to the latest Mac Pro, is there anything that significantly changes? Thanks again for the informative post.
On bottom is the BT Keyboard I woud love to use and above is the Generic USB keyboard I have to use. The Apple BT Keyboard pairs and works fine with OSX but does not work in the Chimera Boot screen to select a partition. Also once I do boot into Windows 7 (using the USB keyboard), I cannot get...
*Bump* for any help on this. I cannot even get my BT Keyboard to connect with Windows 7. It says it's connected but when I hit a key nothing happens. I have an old BT keyboard though, I wonder if that might have something to do with it (Model #A1016). I would love to keep using my keyboard...
If I remember correctly once you plug in the card it should be detected as bluetooth automatically. There are 2 lights on the face of the card, one for wifi and the other for BT is the BT light on? If so go to System Preferences and click on the Bluetooth icon, if it recognizes your card then...
Use the Wifi/Bluetooth card that came with the motherboard. Install it and it should work. I installed it along with the TP-Link card for wifi. Let me know if that works for you. Are you also running Windows 7?
If it helps anyone. I used the bluetooth/wifi card that came with the GA-Z77X-UP5 TH mobo to connect my BT keyboard and it seems to work fine on 10.8.2. Just in case someone wants to try it out and save some money. I did have to buy the TP-Link PCI Express Wifi Adapter (TL-WDN4800) for wifi...
I just want to say thanks again for all of the help. I now seem to have a "fully" working Hackintosh that can boot into OSX/Win7/Linux on 2 separate SSD's. I also have a third HDD for OSX Library storage. Fully is in quotes because I just got this working correctly and now it's on to testing...
After doing some research and trying to figure all of this out :banghead:. This worked :headbang:!!!! Thank you so much Rehabman! I'll probably be back once I mess something else up. Thanks again.
I tried to set the BIOS to boot from the correct drive but it doesn't seem to work.
When I go to the BIOS setup and try to Set Boot Option Priorities, the only options I get are:
P2: Optiarc DVD RW AD-7280S
UEFI: Samsung SSD 840 PRO Series
UEFI: ST33000651AS
P1: SAMSUNG SSD 830 Series...
