First Build - Hack Pro - Audio Prod/Gaming

I'm about to pull the trigger a similar build, and I realize I'm late to the party. If you can hold off on buying a video card for a while, the 480 is supposed to be supported in macOS Sierra, and it looks like the $250 8GB version will crush the $270 GTX 970. Plus, tack on the 20% penalty that...

Final Cut Pro X FCPX Graphic Card performance

Looks like the Radeon cards are still massively outperforming the nVidia cards, which is consistent with the two posts above mine. I have an i7 4790S (stock 3.2 GHz), Asus H97 ProM 4, 16 GB 1600 MHz, Samsung 840, and an EVGA GTX 970 SCX 2.0. BruceX = 23s. The Radeon R9 280 above got 15.5s and...

    Lenovo G470 ... a work in progress

    1. I'm not sure how to help with the graphics card issue. I never had any issues with mine... is there a GraphicsEnabler=No in your Boot.plist (/Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist) 2. Chimera (just the unibeast install worked for me). You may have to do this (sounds like it)...

    Lenovo G470 ... a work in progress

Is there any way you can copy those files to a clean installation? That way, we can see if it's one of the new files or something that is already there. If not, you can sort by Date Added in System/Library/Extensions. Are there some files that were installed after the system (most of them...

    Lenovo G470 ... a work in progress

Hi tatos, Do you have the Intel 2450M (2,5 ghz)? If yes, you can use my SSDT. If not, post what you have here and we can find you the SSDT that works (rehabman made all of them for i5. He is AWESOME). Download this file, and copy these files to the folder. For example...

    Lenovo G470 ... a work in progress

I think my post two up does a pretty good job of explaining. I posted links to the DSDTs that I used, as well as the names of all the important kexts. Install Archintosh's January 2012 stuff. It's excellent. Let me know if you have any issues.

Lenovo G470 - Another One (Success)

Hey ya'll, Figured I'd do a writeup of installing ML 10.8.2 on my Lenovo G470 just so people know I'm another resource. This is a list of issues that I ran into an how I solved them, with the goal of helping other people. For some reason, and I don't know how or why, closing the lid works with...

    Kernel Panics IntelCPUMonitor/FakeSMC

You said you can get at the drive from Windows. Do you have any backups of the working Extensions folder, then boot with a -f ('ignore kernel caches')?

    SSDT for intel Core i5-2450M

Rehabman: You are a miracle worker. Seriously, amazing. I finally got speedstepping working on my i5 2450 (thanks to you). Turns out, that kicks up the GeekBench score by 1,000 pts. Awwww yeah. Also, the fans on my laptop will finally calm down. (Also using your PS2 keyboard and mouse Kexts...

    SSDT for intel Core i5-2450M

Did you already run Multibeast's fix for AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement? I'm running ML, and Multibeast (5.1.3) has a patch to install an AppleIntelCPU that doesn't KP. edit: Install -> Drivers & Bootloaders -> Drivers -> System -> Patched AICPUM -> 10.8.x. Make sure to back up this and NullCPU...

How hot is your laptop running?

Lenovo G470, Intel HD 3000 graphics. Software says it's running at 45-47º pretty reliably.... actually, I haven't tried any gaming, but it takes quite a bit to get it above that. Heavy photoshopping on an external 1080p screen didn't get it much above that.

    Lenovo G470 ... a work in progress

Hey man, I'd definitely like to give a shout-out to both you and archintosh. I have a similar system and have gotten it to about 90% using his DSDTs and your guides. Have been using it for about two weeks [super busy with class] and am getting features one by one. Thanks again! You've been a...
