I don't have a 10gbe card yet to test this, but I'm looking to order one soon.
What about modifying the SmallTree kext plist to include a dependency on fakepciid to ensure it's loaded first, using osbundlelibraries? Is there a check in the smalltree kext to make sure the plist hasn't been...
Keep fighting the good fight Katiebug! Not far in to this thread and the "video card compatibility list" thread I gave up on trying to correct anyone. The GT430 is still listed in the "compatibility list" based on my post that it boots but has serious issues. :banghead:
I was just making a few DSDT edits to add HDMI audio and noticed you were the creator of my DSDT file. Thanks a lot! It's been working like a champ for me.
Still running the F10 BIOS and matching DSDT, working great on ML.
The PNY 1gb GT640 has 1xDVI 1xVGA and 1xHDMI. My understanding is the DVI port on this card is DVI only, so a VGA adaptor won't work.
EDIT: HMDI audio not working OOB. I thought I should mention that.
My PNY GT640 works OOB, GraphicsEnabler=Off. QE/CI, OpenGL, OpenCL, triple monitors all work. I don't have adobe or finalcut to test, but no issues with anything in the iLife suite or any of the other software I've used since switching to the GT640 from my GT430.
I had this showing up too. I also had some strange things showing up in console for a Display-A. I wonder if it is somehow detecting the card twice.
I really have no idea what this means or how it could help. It must be related though...
One thing I noticed when I was still using my GT430, the card showed up in System Profiler/System Information under both Graphics/Displays and PCI Cards. Now that I'm on a Kepler card, and everything works properly, it shows only in Graphics/Displays. PCI Cards is empty.
Has anyone else...
I don't believe AGPM does anything with non stock cards unless edited, and it doesn't log anything unless you turn logging on when you edit it. It hasn't fixed the freezing or graphics corruption for anyone so far, so I wouldn't worry about it.
PNY GT640 worked with no modifications. Just turned GraphicsEnabler off. I also ended up editing my AppleGraphicsPowerManagement.kext, but it works without that. That's just to keep the temps and power bill down.
Edit: If you've installed all the SMC plugins, you'll have nvclockx.kext in...
The 630 is another Fermi based card. It is in fact a renamed GT440. If you want to get out of Fermi, and in to Kepler the minimum card you can get is a 640.

I'm no pro at this, but I don't think the solution will be found with kext swaps. It's probably going to be fixed be a chameleon/chimera update if anything. This is probably due to low level changes in nvidia drivers and graphics functionality in Mountain Lion...
I "fixed" my GT430 Fermi freezes by replacing it with a GT640 Kepler card. $100 and done.
GraphicsEnabler=No Make sure to remove NVClockX.kext.
QE/CI and OpenCL out of the box. Not a bad solution for anyone using a GT430. Less than ideal for anyone with a mid-high end fermi.
Out of curiosity, what system def is everyone using that has these nvidia issues. I'm on macpro3,1. I'm wondering if it makes any difference for Fermi issues.
Update: Successfully changed to macpro5,1 no change in fermi issues. Boots a little faster?
Me too with an eVGA GT430. Stuck in the old 9500GT and no issues at all. I even have opencl support OOB. Would very much like to resolve fermi issues.
Issues with GT430, blue freeze when changing res. Odd graphics glitches in 3d games, corrupted graphics on exit of games. Graphics...
Evga GT430 1024mb usable with dual monitors with GraphicsEnabler=YES
Black screens with GraphicsEnabler=NO
OpenCL GPU device detected by luxmark but unusable. Graphics corruption and odd things happening during opengl games and upon exiting games.
