I have a hackintosh build that has been my daily computer for a few years now. I currently have 4gb (2 x 2gb) of memory in the primary slots. Would there be any problems if I added in 8gb (2 x 4gb) or even 16gb (2 x 8gb) of memory into the two remaining slots?

Recently upgraded to Lion 10.7.3 from 10.6.8. Everything works smooth except now I have this weird problem. OS X thinks that I have an additional 800x600 VGA display. Does anybody have a fix or suggestions for this? Screenshots are below.
