    Lenovo W530 Help

I pretty much did the same thing, ill go into more depth in a bit, just been insanely busy. If you run into errors during install, try changing the USB port you boot from. I know it sounds odd, but the USB 3.0 ports seem to cause errors during install even if 3.0 A lot of the suggestions...

Yep, using multibeast, do an install of voodoo audio 2.73 (the second last one on the list)... it makes the bootup quite unstable, but its the best way to get sound working for now.

    Lenovo W530 Help

This is solid, thank you! I will try it out this weekend. I know this is a huuuuuuge long shot, but have you had any luck with discrete graphics? I am pretty sure I know the answer, and will be happy enough with intel HD4000, but you never know until you ask!

    Lenovo W530 Help

Solid, most of the questions have been answered. I am actually using mountain lion and so far it works fine. The audio drivers sometimes cause kernel panics on startup, but this can easily be fixed by booting into safe mode and removing the audio driver kext and preference pane, and then...

    Lenovo W530 Help

Just tried sleep, it froze my computer up. The sleep light was blinking rapidly and it kept up like that for a good 3 minutes so I just shut down the computer. What does closing the lid do? Also, have either of you experienced issues with the sound driver? Multibeast seems to say it might...

    Lenovo W530 Help

Congrats on getting the hardware acceleration going! I seem to not have a chameleon boot loader at the moment, and am just booting off of my USB key, but I will try the graphics thing at another time! As for the processor speed, my normal speed seems to be recognized. Maybe it has something...

    Lenovo W530 Help

Sometimes you might run into problems even with the graphicsEnabler=No setting, usually a -f flag also helps with that, though Im not sure why

    Lenovo W530 Help

One more question though. Is there any way to keep the bios settings as discrete graphics? I have my system dual booting, so it would be good to use the power of my graphics cards when I can!

    Lenovo W530 Help

Yep, once i get this up and running and do as much as possible with it ill write up something. But for now, have you read the tutorials on using unibeast and all of that? Cause if so,it's actually fairly easy to install the OS on this computer.
