    BitterMelon's "Chip" build: GA-Z77N-WIFI - i5-3570K - HD 6870

Exactly what I do and use on a daily basis. You just have to chose to boot into the drive partition called "System Reserved" to boot into Windows instead of OSX, in the chimaera bootloader screen.

A couple EASY question about my first build

I don't generally poke fun at people's grammar and spelling skills, but this made me chuckle!

A couple EASY question about my first build

I am running the 560 Ti just fine in Mountain Lion. To get it running however, I had to install with it plugged in and boot using the PCIRootUID=0 boot flag for the initial install and for booting before using Multibeast. I'm not sure how you would get it working after installing everything...

    New OOB graphics for ML

My 560 Ti works out of the box as long as I boot into Unibeast install and into ML before Multibeast using PCIRootUID=0

    New to Everything

The main advice I would give is to read and read and read. Most problems you will encounter have a solution somewhere. If you're following a build already documented and you run into a problem that you're sure hasn't been documented yet, post about it in that build's thread. If you solve...

    Gigabyte Z77N-WIFI Alternative help needed

Why are you only using ebuyer? Both Amazon and Overclockers.co.uk have great deals regularly and its not going to cost you much more in postage all together. Why settle for something you don't really want just to save £5 or so on postage... just don't buy a coffee one day or something! Edit...

    "Mini" Gaming Hackintosh?

ASUS GTX560 Ti DirectCUII 1GB DDR5 http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/NVIDIA_Series/ENGTX560_Ti_DCII2DI1GD5/ Note that I installed Mountain Lion with this plugged in but I had to boot twice using the PCIRootUID=0 boot flag, once for the initial install using UniBeast and the second time before...

    "Mini" Gaming Hackintosh?

I have 2 SSDs, one with OSX one with windows 7 and wow runs at about 60 fps on max settings. With average to high settings I can get about 150 fps + even in busy areas. See my specs to the left.

    660TI or 560TI???

660 Ti is definitely better, but I can vouch for the 560 Ti as I am using one with an i5-3570k, Z77N-wifi mobo, and 8gb RAM. I can push CS:GO to a stable 250 fps on low settings (how I prefer to play it). This is dual booting to Windows 7 on another SSD.

    BitterMelon's "Chip" build: GA-Z77N-WIFI - i5-3570K - HD 6870

Just posting to say that when I had this issue using the HD4000 graphics I was indeed using a DVI to VGA adaptor. I did not have the issue when I used the adaptor from my discrete graphics card (GTX 560 Ti). I am now using mini HDMI to HDMI adaptor supplied with the card, into my Dell S2440L...

Best way to record gameplay on Mac

I would dual boot to Windows 7 for gaming and use FRAPS to record gameplay. FRAPS always records much better if you can record to another hard drive, or a solid state drive, or both! I have windows 7 installed on my Z77N, i5-3570k, GTX 560 Ti, on its own SSD and use FRAPS to record to that same...

Ivy Bridge CustoMac Budget Build Graphics

I installed Mountain Lion using Unibeast on a USB drive, onto a Z77n motherboard. I had my GTX 560 Ti plugged in and had to boot using the boot flag PCIRootUID=0 twice, once when booting into the installation from Unibeast and the second time after restarting, before using Multibeast. I...

Bitfenix Prodigy or Mac Pro/PowerMac G5 Hackintosh and Recommended Parts

I would recommend the Bitfenix Prodigy case. I am using it myself and I am very pleased with it. At 13 I'd imagine your money not to be all too disposable so go for something that is guaranteed to work. As for which parts, check out some CustoMac recommended builds and the Golden Builds...

    BitterMelon's "Chip" build: GA-Z77N-WIFI - i5-3570K - HD 6870

I have just completed essentially the same build but with a GTX 560 Ti card instead. I had to completely reinstall in order to get this card to work and I had to boot UniBeast with PCIRootUID=0 and again boot into my installation with PCIRootUID=0 in order to apply Multibeast settings. This is...

    BitterMelon's "Chip" build: GA-Z77N-WIFI - i5-3570K - HD 6870

I can confirm that you have to install the drivers from the CD included with the motherboard. I didn't have an optical drive working so I had to download the driver from the Gigabyte website and put it on a USB thumb drive to get ethernet to work.

    BitterMelon's "Chip" build: GA-Z77N-WIFI - i5-3570K - HD 6870

Hi, I have the same case, motherboard and cooler as the chip build. I have a problem in that the backplate for the cooler block does not seem to line up with the holes. Does anyone have any experience with this or can offer any insight? Edit: the actual backplate has small labels on each of...
