Can't agree with you more. I've gotten really tired of having to install el capitan with little to no success :banghead:. So, my machine will keep running on Yosemite on 1 SSD and in the other SSD will be Windows 10. Surprisingly, Windows 10 was a cinch installing with all the drivers for my...
Successful installation should be posted in the Guides thread
For all those who have successfully installed/upgraded to El Capitan, please post your guides in the "El Capitan Guides" thread so the rest of us who have spent hours or days working on the install can learn from your process.
Since the El Capitan clover bootloader wasn't working for my machine (after numerous attempts an entire weekend trying to make it work). I've decided to hold off on El Capitan until the bootloader bugs have been worked out. But clover seems to have embedded itself in my ATI Bios (i have a...
Can't read from essentials.pkg
So I managed to get to the OSX installer part and then this screen greets me...
It basically says "An error occurred while extracting files from the package "Essentials.pkg"...
I restarted my computer again and again but the screen keeps returning. I also...
I will agree with many of the members here. I, too, followed every single instruction to get EL CAPITAN working on my build. For the past 3 years, I was highly satisfied with Chimera/Unibeast to install updates until Yosemite. I was trying to install EL CAP on a new SSD so I wouldn't have to...
Yes, it will work smoothly. i have a lower spec'd rig and i can run Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, and even Blender without a hitch, though not at the same time ;)
Are you buying it fully built? Try to haggle the price down a bit if you can. Will the seller give support after...
I've read that approach as well. Unfortunately, my LG widescreen monitor only has 2 HDMI ports in the back panel. So the dvi cable solution won't work for me. It's either I get this to work or change SSD and use Linux over OSX
So i bought a LG Ultrawidescreen monitor to replace my aging BenQ HD. When I hooked up the monitor the screen comes up as a stretched 1920x1080. There were no other options to bring it to 2560x1080 widescreen. What should I do to fix this? and no I won't buy another monitor.
Hi Y'all,
About 3 years back, I built my first customac which eventually got upgraded from OS9 to OSX up until last week. I have since given off the same build to my son but I had to remove the SSD (OSX) and replace it with a new SSD (windows 10). So now I am left with my OSX installed SSD...
Well, I decided to dwnld Multibeast 7.0.3 and install it on my Yosemite 10.10.
Guess what?! USB 3.0 is STILL NOT WORKING!
Thanks for all your hard work volunteers who contribute to developing multibeast. Please keep us posted if a solution to the USB 3 problem has been found.
Multibeast 7.0.2
I wonder if the latest multibeast 7.0.2 has the bugs sorted out for USB 3.0 ports? Still cautious about doing an update until I know the USB 3 port drivers have been ironed out
My 2 USB3.0 drivers are not working as well with Yosemite via Multibeat 7.0. I still do have 3 USB 2 ports working so I'll hang on to that for a while until they fix Multibeast 7.x on Yosemite. I don't want to risk crashing my customac now as I have tons of work saved. Still using Yosemite...
I upgraded today to Yosemite from the App Store. Everything installed except when I checked my System Info, it still says 10.9.5. So, the Yosemite upgrade didn't seem like it worked.
Thanks for the link. But, I'm not fond of downloading system files from sources I don't know and not coming from Apple themselves. In the meantime, I'll keep my fingers crossed that this shellshock vulnerability doesn't affect my system in any way. Hopefully, Apple will send an update for...
It has been reported today (Sept. 26) that a bash / shellshock vulnerability is present in every form of linux/unix system including OSX. For those not in the know, Bash is a ubiquitous bit of software; a command interpreter, or "shell," that provides a basic text-on-a-green-screen interface...
It will work but will not as easy as using the suggested motherboards.
Have a look at this thread http://www.tonymacx86.com/desktop-compatibility/126018-will-msi-z87i-motherboard-compatible-hackintosh.html
