    Upgrade CPU/Mobo guidance

Adrian, thanks for the quick reply. I know I don't need/want the old DSDT and the mobos on the buyer's guide don't appear to need them. I do not use any music/photography/video apps, but I know there is always app compatibility issues when a new OS X version is released. There's nothing...

    Upgrade CPU/Mobo guidance

I'm thinking about upgrading my CPU/mobo in my Hackintosh and I have a couple questions. I'm coming from a Core i5-750 (Lynnfield architecture?) and upgrading to one of the newer Core i7 477x models (Haswell). I know I need to upgrade the motherboard too due to the different socket, but haven't...

darkwake flag has no apparent effect

I just want to add, if I disable all services in the Sharing panel of System Preferences, then it doesn't wake up every two minutes. I suspect that is by design, but defeats the purpose of what I'm trying to accomplish. Also, further reading online (I thought I read it all yesterday) revealed...

darkwake flag has no apparent effect

Hi all, I recently updated my old 10.7 rig to 10.8.4 with a fresh install (specs at end). Everything went off without a hitch, used to Multibeast to apply the DSDT for my mobo, install audio (ALC888b/887, with DSDT, Legacy), install Ethernet (Lnx2Mac's RealtekRTL81xx), and install the SATA...

Odd waking from sleep issue (Lion)

Ah thank you so much! That fixed everything (related to this issue at least)

Odd waking from sleep issue (Lion)

I tried searching around but I didn't find this issue, so I apologize if it has been answered (and appreciate it if you link to it) So my Hackintosh build slept and waked just fine under Snow Leopard (and many other things worked well back then too, but I digress...). Now in Lion, when I wake...

    USB bugs

Oops, didn't realize you had a different video card - forgot that tony's DSDT has config for the 9400GT. Do you have tony's boot CD or can you boot off the installation DVD? I think you'll have to put your DSDT back. If you have tony's boot CD you might be able to use it to boot into your...

    USB bugs

hey, check out my thread - I think I got the problem fixed. Tony posted his DSDT, boot, and Extra/ in a zip file. I tried putting them on the EFI partition, but I may have been trying too many things at once. If you have tried moving the files to the EFI partition, you should just replace them...

Still have kernel panics after sleep

I think I have my system in working order again...and somehow fixed the problem! *knock on wood* For the record, this is what I did: -copy the DSDT, boot, and Extra folder back to the Snow Leopard drive. Reboot. -I still have a crappy resolution. Put GraphicsEnabler=Yes back into the...

Still have kernel panics after sleep

I am getting a "boot1: error" message (from Chameleon?) I updated the BIOS to f7c and redid all the BIOS settings (it booted fine). I replaced the UUID with mine and followed the steps for creating the EFI partition and copied everything from your zip file to the EFI partition. Is the DSDT.aml...

Still have kernel panics after sleep

tony, thanks for the files and the tips. I have couple questions before I proceed: -Should I follow your guides to removing the PlatformUUID.kext and moving Chameleon/DSDT/Extras to the EFI partition before using your files? -For the PlatformUUID, would it just be a matter of putting my ID in...

Still have kernel panics after sleep

It's going to sound crazy, but I can't find anything in the Console that says to me it has to do with the KP. Also, there is nothing in /Library/Logs/PanicReporter (in fact there is no PanicReporter directory in neither the main Library nor the user Library)

Still have kernel panics after sleep

Ok, so I still get kernel panics sometime after waking from sleep. It's been running completely stable without going to sleep. I am using tony's sleep enabled DSDT (I have a UD2 mobo - my hardware should be in my sig), which brings me to this question: -do I have to do anything special before...

    USB bugs

Qpertino, I'm having the same issue as Yoyellow - I ran the repair permissions job this morning. It found incorrect permissions on /usr/share/derby (which according to a quick Google search is a symbolic link for something java related), and ARDAgent was wrong too but it said it would not not...

    Flashing BIOS on GA-P55M-UD2

I switched back to the sleep enabled, non-SpeedStep DSDT (grabbed from tonymacx86-DSDT-FIXES.zip), and still no luck. It KP'd once coming out of sleep and still KP'ing on the tab key. I saw this thread (http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=28) by Yoyellow and I realized that my problems...

    USB bugs

I'm having a very related to issue with my keyboard and mouse also. I never made the connection that it happens after waking from sleep, but I did notice that whatever caused the crash works fine after reboot. I've been discussing my problems over in this thread...

    Flashing BIOS on GA-P55M-UD2

That's the weird thing....there is no log. There is no "Mac OS X unexpectedly crashed" dialog that comes up when I reboot (or does this not exist in 10.6? I've only used up to 10.5 on a real Mac). I've checked all the logs in Console for events around the crash and there doesn't to be anything...

    Flashing BIOS on GA-P55M-UD2

I have been getting somewhat random kernel panics too. I flashed the BIOS about a month ago, I think to F5. Not sure if I have a 1.0 or 1.1 board, I can check when I get home. Most of my KPs seem related to USB - at first it seemed related to mouse clicks (open a DMG from a stack, clicking a...
