All right, but I should be able to drive the monitor with the the Radeon VII DP to LG USB-C should work,
right? - Any thoughts how I could achieve that?
I may change to iMacPro1,1 Pro Apps (No iGPU) since I use this system for video editing with
Adobe apps and Da Vinci Resolve. Like in Pics...
In that case I used the tunderbolt 3 connectors of the z390 designare to the USB-C on the LG monitor.
I knew the monitor is not Thunderbolt so that shouldn't work but I was curious to see.
I also tried in both directions:
USB-C from the z390 designare to DP on the Monitor - It does freeze.
DP...
Hey @CaseySJ
Yes, The monitor works with hdmi to hdmi and DP to DP from my Radeon VII (with both Mojave and Catalina).
I also tried usb-c to usb-c, it does freeze. (Both Mojave and Catalina)
Then I bought a Usb-c to DP, same story, it freezes. (Both Mojave and Catalina)

@CaseySJ
Now that this part is sorted let talk about the elephant in the room, I'm sorry if I'm bothering you.

I did the update to Catalina mainly because I got a new LG USB-C display (only USB-C, no Thunderbolt) monitor that does't work on the Mojave system. It make...
@CaseySJ Also,
There is a strange name in the Bios Boot for the Catalina Mojave SSD:
- Clover Start boot.efi at CATALINA (P5: Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250GB)
Is that normal?
I'm sorry I think I didn't select properly verbose mode during that test.
Anyway good news (I hope)!
Now everything works as it supposed to work.
-Both Mojave and Catalina boot properly.
-Mojave boots with and without Catalina SSD attached, during the clover boot Mojave shows 10.14.6 version...
Just few more info: @CaseySJ

It does boot correctly.
- I tried to activate verbose mode on the Mojave boot, again only the "No entry" symbol appeared.
However I did notice something that make me think I...

Thanks for your answer Jiffyslot,
However I don't think the problem is the EFI folder.

The same when I want to boot to my previous Mojave, I...
Hi everyone.
I had a Mojave Clover installation that worked very well for the past 6 months, so I though it was the time to update to Catalina.
I have Mojave on a Sabrent 1TB NVMe and yesterday I made a fresh Catalina Installation to a spare 250gb Samsung 850 Evo. Let call them SSD Mojave and...
Hi ncrispi,
I think I have the same problem. I have the system running since February but I never had any thunderbolt/usb-c device to test it.
Now I got a USB-C monitor (No thunderbolt/only USB-C) that I was hoping to use with this connection instead of HDMI/Displayport but the USB-C on the...

I used that link to download the 1.1.4 (I was doing that even before) but I still don't get the "VirtualSMC.efi"...
Hi @Sparty ,
I have been able to migrate from FakeSMC to VirtualSMC following your guide - only after few attempts.
The problem was that I tried first to use a newer version of VirtualSMC (the current 1.1.4) but I never been able to boot, using the 1.0.6 version you mentioned above it worked...
