Dual channel or Tri Channel RAM

There is little to no difference between triple chanel and dual channel, in fact dual channel performs better in some situations (See link below). Also, you can run triple channel with 4 dimms of memory. The Truth about i7 (1366) memory, both dual channel vs tri channel...

    1600MHz RAM and CL

If you do not overclock/run stock, your BCLK will be 133 therefore making your memory run at 1333Mhz (133x10) If you overclock and your BCLK is 160, then your memory will run at 1600Mhz, just like mine is running at 2000Mhz with a BCLK of 200. Its simple multiplication :) It would be pointless...

New Nvidia Driver`s For GTX 460/470/480 Card`s Official

Thanks again. The fan thing sounds weird. My 480 is quiet and I'm idling around 41-42C (35-36C in Windows). I don't game in osX86, so I couldn't tell you how loud/hot it gets. Assuming you're using Chameleon 2 RC5, boot up, run the Nvidia package, shut down, and swap out your current card with...

New Nvidia Driver`s For GTX 460/470/480 Card`s Official

Thank you for doing this. It confirms its the same with 4,1 with editing vs. 3,1 without editing. You did run kext utility after making the 4,1 edit right?

New Nvidia Driver`s For GTX 460/470/480 Card`s Official

@lelemm Run Cinebench both ways and let us know how many FPS you get. If its ~20FPS, everything is most likely working fine. The graphic info generally doesn't matter and other people have reported getting similar info to yours. Also, are you using Mac Pro 4,1 Mac Pro 3,1 Imac etc?

any way to overclock a videocard with a hackintosh

Just flash the bios to a card's bios that has the clocks you want or use NiBiTOr and modify your own. Just be sure to read up on it if you don't know what you're doing.

GTX 285 H55m-USB3 10.6.4 Open GL slow performance

Set it to Mac Pro 4,1 and edit the AppleGraphicsPowerManagement.kext/Contents/Info.plist's MacPro4,1 section by changing Vendor10deDevice05e2 to Vendor10deDevice05e3. Run Kext Utility and reboot. Your card is running at level 0 power and this will set it to level 2. BTW 05e3 is only for the...

    Any GA-EX58-UD5 builds?

HAHA, cute! Honestly, both boards are incredibly easy. If you do wind up going with the EX58-UD5 (don't confuse this with the X58A-UD5), I'll give you simple steps from A-Z and include all the files I used. Doing the DSDT part is a breeze! You just drop it off in your Extra folder and there's...

i7 950 geekbench score, is this normal??

Well, you would need a BCLK of 160 and a mem divider of 10 or what you're running now (133 BCLK) and a memory divider of 12. Either way, its going to make your Uncore Freq run x20-x24 which will cause heat. I Wouldn't overclock if you don't have an aftermarket cooler.

    Any GA-EX58-UD5 builds?

The UD5 has a few more features than the UD3, but both boards are great. I'm using the EX58-UD5 with Chameleon 2 RC5 rev. 629 along with dOOd's DSDT (linked below). If you do decide to go with the UD5, the DSDT from here is fine, but its not anywhere near as optimized as dOOd's. If you scroll...

New Nvidia Driver`s For GTX 460/470/480 Card`s Official

Are you using Mac Pro 3,1 or 4,1? If you're using 4,1 have you edited your AppleGraphicsPowerManagement.kext/Contents/Info.plist's MacPro4,1 section so power states kick in correctly?

New Nvidia Driver`s For GTX 460/470/480 Card`s Official

jonnynogood You're probably going to have to wait until the 580's ID is integrated into a bootloader. Every vanilla 580 out right now is exactly the same, sans the stickers on them. If you tend to keep cards for years, get an eVGA because of the lifetime warranty. If you tend to buy and sell...

New Nvidia Driver`s For GTX 460/470/480 Card`s Official

You're telling me! I was literally an hour away from trading my 480 for a 5870 + a few bucks. I would have gone mad! :D

i7 950 geekbench score, is this normal??

Gustovier is your CPU running at stock? If it is, your memory is running @ 1333Mhz, not 1600. Assuming you're running stock, your score sounds about right to me.
