Hey Guys, I just received a i7-970, and I want to build a 100% working hackint0sh with the least amount of kexts and dsdt hacking as possible. I want to get as much of a vanilla install as possible, although as the OSX MAC Pro's have chips, I haven't seen any with as much power as the i7-970...

Is an atom with a gig of ram really THAT slow? I really need something just for recording music... I dont care about it being super fast.. but if it's SUPER dog slow then it's not worth it....

I think that I might settle with a Dell Mini 10V After looking at it. It looks like it would be the easiest next to vanilla install out there and it's under 300$

I use Reason 4.0.1. It's the best recording software available. And for some reason it's a hell of a lot easier to use on a Mac than Windows. Highly suggest that for all serious recording artists / musicians out there! Garage band is alright for beginning and Abelton suite is great for Dj'ing...

I edited a DSDT for this model, I haven't had a chance to see if it works yet as when i tried a video fix before adding the modified DSDT i had a KP on boot.

There's definitely drivers for the ATI 4xxx there isn't for the nvidia 3xx so i think a better bet would be ati although nvidia (2xx) series works better for hackintosh's

I had no problems getting 10.6.2 on or the internet. But i have a WMP300N which i use for wireless. anyways I'll look at tony's reply to my post install thread and update from there. should get a chance this weekend.
