Snow Leopard HDMI Audio - Part 2: DSDT Edits

First of all, Toleda, thanks for the guide and all your help and patience with a noob. I have 2 displays now, 1 over HDMI (with audio!!) and a monitor over the DVI. All of my ports work (the eSata is buggy, but I'm figuring that one out). had to make an edit to my AppleHDA.kext to get it to...

Snow Leopard HDMI Audio - Part 2: DSDT Edits

This time before trying, I enabled remote screen sharing. After updating the DSDT, the USB stopped working again, so I remoted in, and (parital) SUCCESS! I had HDMI audio!. After exploring a little via remote screen sharing, randomly the USB started working again (about 10 mins later)...

Snow Leopard HDMI Audio - Part 2: DSDT Edits

I've started from scratch I installed the proper DSDT from the database using MultiBeast with UserDSDT and followed the directions again. When I open my DSDT file, a PEGP search comes back empty (good), a GFX0 search comes back empty (good), but a 0x00010000 comes back with multiple entries...

Snow Leopard HDMI Audio - Part 2: DSDT Edits

Sorry--perhaps I didnt explain it well I used IOReg to determine the address at 0x00010000---I actually went thru each step one by one - reading it in its entirety once, and then going back and actually following each step. Its just that when searching for the display address in DSDTSE, it...

Snow Leopard HDMI Audio - Part 2: DSDT Edits

So i got it to work by using Multibeast to install, but when it reboots, my USB ports -- all of them -- stopped working. before I tried it again, when searching for 0x00010000, it did show up in a few locations: under Device (PCI0) under Device (Mem) under Device (IGD0), but under the...

Snow Leopard HDMI Audio - Part 2: DSDT Edits

ARGH! I've been able to follow every step successfully until the last one--when I compile the DSDT, it compiles successfully. Then I install it and select /extra. I reboot, and check the DSDT, and its back to the original version--without any edits. Even if i check it before rebooting (IE...

Snow Leopard HDMI Audio - Part 2: DSDT Edits

Re: Demystifying HDMI Audio Part 2: DSDT Edits Another quick note -- When everything was up and running, except for HDMI Audio, my video card was an unrecognized nvidia card in system profiler--every other part of that profile was correct (detected the TV, showed HDMI out, etc), just the name...

Snow Leopard HDMI Audio - Part 2: DSDT Edits

Re: Demystifying HDMI Audio Part 2: DSDT Edits Its the AppleHDA rollback (10.6.2 in multibeast) that I edited on 10.6.8 Snow Leopard. Part of me thinks it may be easiest to start from scratch again since I cant really get into the system at all

Snow Leopard HDMI Audio - Part 2: DSDT Edits

Re: Demystifying HDMI Audio Part 2: DSDT Edits I started posting on my old HDMI post but realized this is the more apt place to post I went through the step by step of editing my DSDT and AppleHDA.kext (v 10.6.2) as noted (or so I think). When I rebooted, it gets caught up on the apple logo...

    nVidia GT240 HDMI Audio

I got it recognized with GraphicsEnabler=yes, but video (IE through EyeTV) is very very choppy Sorry for trying to get a step by step -- I do look at the other posts that have this stuff on it, but it just seems that at each step, I keep on missing something (if I need to change where I'm...

    nVidia GT240 HDMI Audio

So its been a long hiatus, but I've started with Step 1 and am attempting to edit the DSDT for my system. But my problem in step one is getting system profiler to register the GT240 as the video/graphics device. Right now, it says "Unknown nVidia device" I've tried the latest and greatest...

    nVidia GT240 HDMI Audio

Well I'm running 10.6.8, with the latest nVidia driver and... Card is still "unknown nVidia graphics card" After updating and installing the video drivers, I deleted any kext that had HDA in it (I keep doing this, but is actually the right thing to do??), and then used multi-beast to install...

    nVidia GT240 HDMI Audio

I've tried everything to get HDMI Audio from my nVidia GT240 (the recommended in the HDMI+Audio solutions page). I'm running 10.6.6 and have a Gigabyte GA-H55M-USB3 F11 Bios. I enabled my video card, but in system profiler it still says "unknown nVidia card" and I *think* this is why I cant...

Getting HDMI Audio GT240 without DSDT

Strange--months later i tried again to fix this based on the Rollback/VooDoo 2.1 suggestion, and i actually get audio from the onboard audio, not the GT240 HDMI. Wierd thing is that it shows all the on board options, and then shows 4 digital outs as well (none worked) Any suggestions?

    Static Audio/Help installing audio kexts

What are you trying to accomplish? Audio via HDMI (which i'm having trouble with) or Audio via your MB? If its onboard audio (via your MB), through multibeast, select system utilities, expand Drivers&Bootloaders-->Kexts&Enablers-->Audio-->Realtek ALC8xx, select ALC8xx HDA, AppleHDA rollback...

Getting HDMI Audio GT240 without DSDT

I have a Gigabyte H55M-USB 3 F11 with an nVidia GT240 512. I'm really happy with my system right now except I'd really like to get HDMI audio. I've tried deleting anything that has "HDA" from the /s/l/e and installing each of the VooDooHDA kexts (one at a time), but I cant seem to get it to...
