tbh I could never get it working 100%. There was always stability issues and one or two things not working, but it was always different every time I tried using the exact same method, so getting to the bottom of the problem and fixing it was never easy. I eventually gave up.

Uh, that sounds about right. 15 hours in a long time and power is still being pushed to RAM and the little LED lights on the power button and activity lights.

Alright, using notation's notes and ktexts, I have most things working. Later tonight I will do a full report and attach a zip file of all the ktexts that work for me.

Update: Multibeast works well. I have the SB GPU working, USB works. Trackpad does NOT work. I don't know how to fix this. The trackpad enabler thing in Multibeast did nothing. Help! Also, trying to install The VoodooHDA from Multibeast results in a KP on startup. Reformatting and reinstalling...

WOW, that's fantastic! Alright, I'm convinced. I'm going to take the plunge. If I get this working I will do what I can to help improve SL/Lion on the K53E. :)

Hmm, it seems there is a fix for speedstep but it looks really complicated to do. Most of what I'm reading here is out of my understanding right now. :(

Hello, I have a ASUS K53E that I was thinking about getting working with OS X. Mind you, I'm completely new to hackintoshs but not macs. From what I've read the Sandybridge GPU is not supported yet, will this be supported soon? Also, how is battery life in OS X? I get about 3-4 hours in Win7...
