Defragging is pretty much a Windows only thing. Linux and Mac OS are much more intelligent about handling that. With HFS+, just reboot every now and again, and it'll go through and take care of stuff on boot. The Verify/Repair disk thing in Disk Utility, is just for disk errors.

Well, crud. I tried updating the kext for bluetooth, following what little directions there were, and now bluetooth is non functional. I copied back the files it recommended deleting, repaired permissions, and run the HP Installer. the HP Installer now stops with an error, and still no bluetooth.

Ok, I installed a program called KeyRemap4Macbook. After installing and rebooting, function and control were back to normal, but not command and option. I used Keyremap to swap those two back to normal. Not perfect, but it is at least something.

Hi, I did have a working system, but this morning when I booted, it randomly dropped the keyboard config. command and alt have changed mapping, and function doesn't respond (which means I cannot change brightness when I boot on battery). Control and Function have swapped. What can I do to fix this?
