F10 was the first thing I found and tried before I posted here. The real problem was that since I wasn't on location I couldn't realize that the standard Apple keyboard that I thought was being used had been replaced by a Mac Ally keyboard and it was configured to require FN and the function key...
I don't think it was Chimera. I think that was before my time with hackintosh. And no search tool is helping. I can't find the answer. That's why I finally asked for help.
Hi All,
I am currently searching on this as well, but thought maybe someone could save me a lot of time.
I set up my Mom's Hackintosh on Chameleon 9 years ago, the same as my machine at the time. Since then I've gone to clover and now OpenCore on my machine. Her's is still on Chameleon.
I...
I don't think my problem is related to hackintosh. I think it's the same as many real mac owners have:

Hi. I'm back. :)
Unfortunately, I still haven't been able to get my wifi to work. I have Broadcom BCM43xx 1.0 (7.77.111.1 AirPortDriverBrcmNIC-1675.1).
It tries to start wifi a few times. Keeps failing and turning back off. And gets to the point where nothing happens at all when trying to turn...
I don't think this is related to Open Core. I think I remember switching to Open Core and booting into Mojave and it worked fine. I think it only started after upgrading to Big Sur. I think it's either a Big Sur bug (which is quite possible. I've seen many real mac users complaining of wifi...
Thanks, but using my old serial info with the new mac model did work. It's kind of a loophole. There was an article about it on the main page of this site. I'm glad it worked because I hate having to reregister all of my software when it thinks it's a new machine.
You really saved me. I went...
Good to know it's not just me. I'm currently just giving up on wifi and staying wired. Maybe it'll work correctly in Big Sur? If not, I'm sure someone else will figure it out soon.
Hi All,
I made the move to Opencore recently and so far everything seems to be good except for Wifi.
On Clover, all I needed was AirportBrcmFixup.kext. On Opencore, even with that Wifi is not working as expected.
It is working in the sense that the card is recognized. But it keeps cycling...
I used UseMacAddr0 in my clover ROM configuration. So not sure what to put in it's place in OC.
"A correctly formatted ROM value - Usually the MAC address of your Ethernet connection". Fixed.
But oddly enough, after fixing iMessage and App Store with this, now System Prefs thinks I can only...
Actually, it seems I THOUGHT I had copied over my MLB. I missed it. Once I put it in and restarted all my iCloud logged in. But my iMessage/App Store are still not working. Love it.
But at least System Prefs says I can upgrade to Big Sur directly. My About this Mac still shows an iMac, but lots...
I'm also UEFI based.
I tried to copy over my old serial like mentioned here: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/how-to-prepare-for-big-sur.305549/
I also brought over the UUID and the MLB. Maybe the MLB was a mistake.
Still not sure why my Broadcom BCM43xx 1.0 keeps stopping and restarting. sigh.
Those problems solved. Now my Wifi keeps turning off and on again. More searching.
Oh, and I also lost iCloud and iMessage working. And my mac still shows as iMac in About this Mac instead of as mac pro.
I was trying to change config.plist settings to get verbosity working. When trying another reboot it finally booted all the way through. Not exactly sure why. But come to find out, it was only booting into recovery and when launching Disk Utility from there, it doesn't even see my Mojave startup...
You're my hero! I have almost the exact same hardware and this saved me a ton of time. It's not actually working. It gets 3/4 of the way through the boot and hangs, but all I need to do now is figure out how to boot open core in verbose mode and I'm sure I'll figure it out. Thanks for sharing!
Oh, and my graphics card is no longer GeForce. Would need to review my Amazon orders to remember what it even is now. I don’t think the graphics card would be related, but thought I’d mention that.
Hi All,
I’m working on getting ready to upgrade to Big Sur from a Mojave install that has been stable for a long time, but can’t get through the upgrade to the latest Clover.
Order of events:
Updated AppleALC, Lilu, and WhateverGreen to latest. Rebooted system. No issues.
I didn’t do anything...
