Apples refurbed 27" iMac with 5K display is $1529. To me that's a much better deal than a bare Mac Mini at $799. Only time will tell.

So the average price for a new Mac Mini is actually $1800. You walk into the Apple store to buy one. It needs a keyboard, mouse, and monitor. The ones Apple recommends bring the price to $1800 plus tax. The old Hack looks better every day....

It might as well be soldered if people aren't going to add it themselves. For some, like people on this forum (very small percentage), it's great. The average person will just buy it with more if they think they need it.

The new Mac mini is an incredibly overpriced steamy pile of moose dung. The old one wasn't great at $499. This has better specs but they almost doubled the price.

I purchased a TPLink Archer T6E refurbished from the Microcenter store in my city. Shut my Hack off, plugged the card into the open full length PCIe slot, turned my hack back on and BAM! Searching for wireless networks....and there's your dinner...

Picked one of the Archer T6E cards up from Microcenter as a refurb for $25.00, perfect OOB. Could not be easier!

GT 710, while nothing special, worked OOB for me with Mojave. That allowed me to be up and running without worrying about any graphics issues at all. That makes it a keeper in my book. Highly recommended!

Almost bought a Mac Mini. Bought a GTt 710 from Micro Center, and this old girl runs Mojave just fine.
