    Moarfish's build - GA-B75M-D3H i5 3570K

Video card was the EVGA 2GB DDR3 GT 710. Best $40 I've spent in a while.

    Moarfish's build - GA-B75M-D3H i5 3570K

I got off my butt and dragged up another monitor. Yes, I have 2 displays running on this card. Asus 27 inch on HDMI and a 23 inch hp on dvi. Can't decide if mirroring or extending is better. Can I drag the dock over to my 27 inch? Time to investigate...I see I can go left side dock option. That...

Apple Introduces New MacBook Air and Mac Mini

Apples refurbed 27" iMac with 5K display is $1529. To me that's a much better deal than a bare Mac Mini at $799. Only time will tell.

Apple Introduces New MacBook Air and Mac Mini

So the average price for a new Mac Mini is actually $1800. You walk into the Apple store to buy one. It needs a keyboard, mouse, and monitor. The ones Apple recommends bring the price to $1800 plus tax. The old Hack looks better every day....

Apple Introduces New MacBook Air and Mac Mini

It might as well be soldered if people aren't going to add it themselves. For some, like people on this forum (very small percentage), it's great. The average person will just buy it with more if they think they need it.

Apple Introduces New MacBook Air and Mac Mini

I have to laugh when I hear people say what a great feature it is for users to be able to add RAM themselves. When I'm at the Apple store to get an iPhone serviced under warranty, or buy something, I like to look at the other people there and listen to them. 95% of them would have no clue how to...

Apple Introduces New MacBook Air and Mac Mini

I don't really need a new hack, my old system is fine. I was looking for a used mini or maybe a new mini, but the prices are still a joke. This community has allowed me to sail along on this Ivy bridge system for quite a while now with minimal effort. Thanks to all!!

Apple Introduces New MacBook Air and Mac Mini

I can buy these same parts from Microcenter for $388.00. Actually they are better, it has a 240 gb ssd instead of a 128. That's i3 coffee lake, Gigabyte board with 4 slots, 8gb stick, good power supply, wifi, and a nice case. When I use the almost $500 I saved to help pay for an iPhone Xr, I...

Apple Introduces New MacBook Air and Mac Mini

Since when is an i3, 8gb ram, 128 gb storage machine worth $850 out the door with tax included? I thought I was at Tonymacx86, not imore or apple insider.

Apple Introduces New MacBook Air and Mac Mini

The new Mac mini is an incredibly overpriced steamy pile of moose dung. The old one wasn't great at $499. This has better specs but they almost doubled the price.

Wi-Fi chipsets clarification for macOS Mojave

I purchased a TPLink Archer T6E refurbished from the Microcenter store in my city. Shut my Hack off, plugged the card into the open full length PCIe slot, turned my hack back on and BAM! Searching for wireless networks....and there's your dinner...

Picked one of the Archer T6E cards up from Microcenter as a refurb for $25.00, perfect OOB. Could not be easier!

Building cheap Intel 4th gen Hackintosh

GT 710, while nothing special, worked OOB for me with Mojave. That allowed me to be up and running without worrying about any graphics issues at all. That makes it a keeper in my book. Highly recommended!

    Moarfish's build - GA-B75M-D3H i5 3570K

Almost bought a Mac Mini. Bought a GTt 710 from Micro Center, and this old girl runs Mojave just fine.
