    [SUCCESS] Big Sur on GA-Z270X Gaming 5 + i7-7700K + RX580

A further problem now - I've found that external drives formatted to HFS+ don't show up in disk util, and internal drives that already existed on the system (one extra HDD, one extra SSD) show up but any new internal drives don't. I've tried formatting the drive on another machine, still...

    [SUCCESS] Big Sur on GA-Z270X Gaming 5 + i7-7700K + RX580

Late to the party here, I have (very nearly) the same system (Gigabyte Z270X Gaming 5 | i7-7700K | Sapphire RX 580). I've used your edit 3 EFI, then enabled the Quirks as suggested here, and then tried Edit 1 EFI as well just in case. Only difference I can see is that I'm on F9d BIOS as the GA...

What is your oldest Hackintosh still in use?

Mine is my first machine, ASUS P7P55D-E-Pro, which had snow leopard on it using rboot (iboot gave me problems I seem to recall), and this was in 2010 I believe. Currently sits happily on Mojave as my crushftp and Plex server, chock full of drives. Would love to update it - haven’t had the time...

updated to Mojave, no quick look or preview jpg, help AMD rx 580

Enabling iGPU in BIOS fixed this for me on RX560 as well, thanks @CyCLoBoT EDIT - spoke to soon. It did fix the jpg issue but it put me in a loop at boot a couple of times, then get to desktop and “your computer restarted because of a problem”. I’ve got work this week I need the machine...

Gigabyte Z270X Sapphire RX580 black screen on update to catalina

OK - so I've just updated the UEFI BIOS from F7 to F9d - that's not done it either. Unless there's any other ideas, I'm gonna stick with mojave for a bit and try again on the next MB/LiluWEG release i think. Bit dull, but I need this machine working.

[SUCCESS] Gigabyte GA-Z270-Gaming K3 + (Gigabyte Nvidia GeForce 210) now Sapphire ATI Radeon RX580

I've got a blackscreen problem on the catalina update but the mojave update was fine - did you have to do anything different for the catalina update?

Gigabyte Z270X Sapphire RX580 black screen on update to catalina

@P1LGRIM it's what was included with Mulitbeast 12.3.0 - Lilu 1.4.5 and WEG 1.4.0. Just double checked the files in the EFI, definitely those versions. Catalina version is 15.5.02 - is there any merit in trying an older version of Catalina do you think?

Gigabyte Z270X Sapphire RX580 black screen on update to catalina

Hello friends... I have a Gigabyte Z270X which I've just changed my GPU to Sapphire RX580. Update to Mojave was a breeze, HDMI and DP both working great together. I'm struggling with a blackscreen error when updating to Catalina. Using Multibeast 12.3.0 -I have tried using single output...

Replacing nvidia - need cheap amd gpu’s

Thanks all, I’ve gone for the Sapphire RX560. Got 2 of them - should do the job for 3 outputs, and then I can put the other one in one of the other machines. The videoslave should be fine for a while as it is on high Sierra, and I’ll grab another gpu down the road if I need to. Or maybe nvidia...

Replacing nvidia - need cheap amd gpu’s

Hi all, I have 3 customacs, all running High Sierra as I went with Nvidia a long time ago and now I’m stuck. I’m an audio engineer, don’t need graphics to be all singing and dancing. one of my machines is a server, one is a videoslave (just needs to be able to play a video) and one is a pro...

Memtest - Bad RAM got you down?

Old post I know but it’s just proved an intermittent fault for me - do you know how to interpret the results? I’ve got 4 sticks of 4gb in my server machine and the output log from memtest but no clear way to work out which is which. I know the slow way is to remove one at a time and see how we...

    [SUCCESS] ASUS P7P55D-E-Pro

I'm having some LAN issues with my P7P55D-E-PRO. I'm using the RealtekRTL8111.kext from multibeast but it's spotty and isn't giving me gigabit at all - maxes out at around 100. Anyone know a better idea than that kext? I never used to need it until I resurrected this machine for HS, the DSDT...

[Solved] Permissions - no access from other machines

Just updated clover to 4674 and it's fixed this. I couldn't update using Multibeast (it errored) so i updated within cloverConfig. No nice icons in clover now, but I'll be updating to Mojave soon so I'll use MB then.

ASUS P7P55D-E-Pro Working El Capitan 10.11.0 Guide

They’ve all been solid until HS - but I was always just updating from the El Cap install which wasn’t uni/multi beast - it was before tony had sorted out the clover stuff so I followed his earlier guide. HS I started fresh and it’s been trouble.

ASUS P7P55D-E-Pro Working El Capitan 10.11.0 Guide

It’s still a bit buggy - it works but there’s a permissions problem where I can’t write to it from another machine. I was hoping that a mojave install might sort it. Here’s my unformatted notes from installing. Had a PSU problem that I think caused some of the HD errors. NOTES: Hserve V2.1...

[Solved] Permissions - no access from other machines

Hi all - got some permissions problems. I am attempting to share files via afp between my hack pro, and my hack server. Pro is a gigabyte board, all in signature. Server is where the issue lies I think, it’s an ASUS P7P55D-E-Pro. I have file sharing on, ignore ownership ticked on all internal...
