NVIDIA Releases Alternate Graphics Drivers for macOS High Sierra 10.13.3 (387.10.10.10.25)

Huge thank you for this. For whatever reason (almost certainly my fault), I was having problems rolling back, and this has worked perfectly for me.

[Solved] HS / 8700K Sleep Issues

Turns out it wasn't working properly after all. Yay for testing. Should not have removed USBInjectAll.kext, had made a couple of further errors in my SSDT, and I hadn't set up the power property injection, which in the end this post helped me do...

[Solved] HS / 8700K Sleep Issues

Thanks! I had followed that guide (or thought I had) - but I made a couple of mistakes - incorrectly labelled the type of the port I'd connected the Broadcom card to (I put 0, as it's a USB2 port, but should have put 255 for internal) - and I failed to remove USBInjectAll.kext after I was done...

[Solved] HS / 8700K Sleep Issues

Thanks - I disconnected it, and sleep worked fine. Sorry - I really should have tried that before. Is it possible to stop that specific USB port from waking the machine? Allow Bluetooth Devices to Wake this Computer is disabled, so I know that doesn't work.

[Solved] HS / 8700K Sleep Issues

Completed my new dream build over Christmas - so I've gone all in with a wall-mounted water cooled approach - it's a pretty ambitious build for me, and I've learned a whole lot more about configuring Hackintoshes along the way (although I still feel like I know nothing) Everything's working...

macOS Sierra Does NOT Boot with MacPro3,1 MacPro4,1 System Definitions

I was already on iMac14,2 - confirmed in System Report - but it won't let me download - I get the standard "This version of macOS 10.12 cannot be installed on this computer." dialog. Any suggestions would be very welcome :)

UniBeast: Install OS X Mavericks on Any Supported Intel-based PC

Worked well, but dear Lord, was Multibeast slow. Took about half an hour to install the basic DSDT-Free + network drivers (over five minutes before the progress bar showed that anything was happening) Apart from that, it was a breeze :)

    Building a CustoMac: Buyer's Guide July 2013

Sadly, I can't seem to find a GA-Z77X-UP5-TH in the UK for love nor money. Unless I choose to import one. The suppliers tell me its being discontinued? I bought a GA-Z77X-UD5H instead, but they're getting a little thin on the ground also...

    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 Works

    Gtx 760 Just installed a new Gigabyte GTX 760 - GE=No worked fine, and it's happily driving three monitors at 1920 x 1200 (2 x DVI, 1 x HDMI) Happy am I....

Do you own a real Mac?

Yep - I've owned a few Macs over the years. First was a PM7500 (wonderful machine for its day) Followed by one of the blue & white PowerMacs Then a Mac Pro (PowerPC) Replaced that with my Hack, but I still own a 2009 MacBook Pro, which is still a great machine, and still going strong...

Read if you are having problems with graphics and getting Mountain Lion Installed

Are you sure of this? I just did a clean ML install on one of my builds, and the DVD player was all present and correct.

    Video Card Compatability List.

Different people have different builds. For me, no graphics card = no displays. Anyway - the kext stuff only added a couple of minutes to install. No biggie.

Stuck at white screen while installing Mountain Lion [NEED HELP]

This approach worked for me for an XFX 6870. Might be worth a shot for you. http://www.tonymacx86.com/mountain-lion-desktop-support/61013-video-card-compatability-list-2.html#post390856

DVD Player not recognizing the DVD drive

Well - so far as I can tell, everything ML is now working like a dream... apart from the DVD drive (Liteon, not sure of the model) The drive is recognised, iTunes can burn discs with it it, VLC can play discs on it, but the DVD player doesn't recognise it - I just get the "A valid DVD drive...

So is the ATI 6870 probably the best choice?

GE=yes - you shouldn't need to specify the framebuffer (but it won't cause any problems if you do)

What card should I buy for triple monitor support?

I have reliable, fully working triple monitor support (each 1920x1200) more-or-less OOB with my XFX 6870. I've posted about this elsewhere, but in brief the setup that works for me is: 1 from the HDMI output (HDMI->DVI adapter) 1 from a DVI output (only one DVI will work with this card) 1 using...
