Bluetooth is working for me again after using BlueToolFixup.kext.
I finally mapped my USB ports and seems to be functioning correctly so far.
Wi-Fi will never work with my Atheros-based card - Have to get a compatible card for that.
I think I'm done with Hackintoshing just to be able to run...
I have been clinging onto an old wifi adapter that has been unsupported since High Sierra and a Bluetooth dongle.
The Blutooth dongle has worked OTB until now. The WiFi card needed patching via kexts developed by other users.
Neither work now with Montery.
My hackintosh crashes randomely and...
Hmmm, I tried the suggested tweaks, My current system still boots fine (Big Sur) but the Monterey installer still panics with the follwing:
I think it might be the Wireless Network kexts.
further up I see the follwing:
I don't know if it has anything to do with my issue but I have tried setting SecureBootModel to Default and to Disabled without any difference.
In this file I think it's set to Default ( which was the . . . default)
Hi,
I have a working install of Big Sur and have updated to the latest OC version 0.8.5, plus the latest versions of VirtualSMC Lilu Whatevergreen and AppleALC.
I'm trying to do a direct update through System Preferences but the Monterrey Installer panics with the following...
Thanks for this, worked for me as well.
I have no idea why the App Store just suddenly stopped working - just last week I downloaded the 10.5 update to Logic Pro without issue - then yesterday App Store said "Nope".
Anyway, thanks man
You didn't mention anything about your Bios/UEFI settings so :
1. load optimized defaults
then set the following as previously recommended earlier in this thread:
BIOS Features>Windows 8/10 Features: Windows 8/10
BIOS Features>CSM Support: Disabled
Peripherals>Initial Display Output: PCIe 1...
I realise this necro-posting, but just thought it a good place to store other experiences and solutions to this issue.
I installed an ADATA SX8200 1TB and was getting very poor write speeds and barely acceptable read speeds.
I had cloned my installation from an APFS formatted mechanical...
Thanks @cretans ( and others) this worked for me on my Skylake Z170X build as well.
Only other things I had to do was
1. enable iGPU in Bios -----> fix for quicklook jpegs not working.
2. Roll back IO80211Family.kext plug-in "AirPortAtheros40.kext" and put it into /Library/Extensions to get my...
I'm back on Sierra for the time being as I was unable to solve the Freezing issue.
In my case - the GUI just stopped responding, but I could ssh in from another mac and issue commands, run cli programs etc.
I couldn't reboot or shutdown remotely though - my session would log out from the remote...
Is this a new install of High Sierra, or did you update from a previous system?
I had GUI freezes after I updated from Sierra to High Sierra.
I had installed all the latest versions of essential KEXTs in preparation for the update - this turned out to be a mistake in my case.
I reverted all my...
Do it in UEFI/BIOS
I know in my case that turning CSM support off when booting UEFI worked for me.
You can try it by changing Windows 8/10 features from "Other OS" to Windows 8/10 WHQL.
Then the option to disable CSM support will be visible.
Good luck
You have to set "Windows 8/10 Features" from "Other OS" to "Windows 8/10 WHQL" .
Then the option to disable CSM Support will appear.
Also make sure you're actually booting using UEFI and not legacy <---- I'm sure you know this but . .
