Great news!
Now after waiting on the sidelines, I can finally order the parts for my 2nd hackintosh! Thanks for all the hard work.
Quick question- I'm back on forth on the Out-of-the-box support for AHCI M.2 drives and using...
Oh, so it's a util that executes the unix commands "defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles YES" and "defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles NO"?
If so, than utilizing that would necessitate my being able to boot into my 10.8 drive and get past the [PCI Configuration...
Could you explain what you mean by "showing hidden files"? Is that a function available via the UniBeast bootloader screen? Instead of just typing in boot flags, there is a function I can use to 'show hidden files'? (Perhaps this will become painfully obvious to me once I get home from work and...
I'm not sure if this is the proper place to post this, but I am posting it here based on MacMan's instruction in the 8th page of comments for "MultiBeast 5.0 for Mountain Lion". I also posted it in the comments for "UniBeast: Install OS X Mountain Lion on Any Supported Intel-based PC" as that...
I'm running a GA-H55M-S2V with a i3 540, and MSI N8400GS-D512H graphics. I tried to perform an update to my 10.7.4 machine, and have no problem installing ML using UniBeast 1.5.3. However, when I try to boot into the ML updated drive using UniBeast, I am getting a hang at [PCI Configuration...
Ok, amazingly, booting with -F just got me into my backup OS! <phew!>
So, now the $10,000,000 question- how do I go about ensuring that I can boot back into both my backup and main drives again? Is it as simple as running Multibeast on both instances to fix what must be a corrupt kext cache?
This morning I had some time to do a little more research, and based on having seen in verbose mode that the hand for my backup Lion install hangs as [PCI configuration begin], I tried using first the npci=0x3000 and then the npci=0x2000 boot flags, unfortunately both to no avail.
Can anyone...
The idea that SuperDuper doesn't clone the Chimera code makes sense.
I haven't been able to boot into my backup drive using UniBeast, however. It just hangs at the [PCI Configuration Begin] when trying to boot the backup.
I would assume that I was previously able to boot into the Backup...
The only flag I've used so far is -v.
As I've been lucky in my prior installs, I've never had to use any boot flags prior to yesterday, so I was trying to avoid overly applying them without knowing what I'm doing.
I only get the boot0 when trying to boot using the ML OS'ed drive. When I...
First off, I am running:
CORE I3 540 3.06G
GIGABYTE GA-H55M-S2V
MSI N8400GS-D512H
and used UniBeast 1.5.2 and the draft guide to perform the upgrade from 10.7.4.
I back up my drives nightly using SuperDuper, and had backed up the Main OS drive just prior to the install.
Everything...
Re: Installation hangs at apple screen, w/white 'no' box
Good news! I now have a functioning Hackintosh!
I took the whole box apart, reseated all the hardware, buttoned 'er back up and ran through the guide one more time, and something in that process seams to have done the trick.
I have yet...
Re: Installation hangs at apple screen, w/white 'no' box
Hmmm... thanks!
The last thing on the screen says:
"NVEnabler::probe fails
RealtekRTL81xxx.kext: NIC identified as RTL8168/811E (mcfg=23)
Still Waiting for root device"
Suggestions?
I've been reading and planning for weeks, and finally have all my hardware lined up, and started in on my first Hackintosh this afternoon.
Unfortunately, I seem to be stuck without ever really starting. My installation hangs after leaving the iBoot screen for the SL install disk. I only get as...
