Mountain Lion Hangs on White screen during install

Hi, I have the same mobo, I've been running it without DSDT since now. What bios version do you use? I remember updating my bios ince, but that gave me alot of problems. What are the benefits of using a DSDT vs. just Chameleon/chimera?

    Asus 1155 Patched BIOS Repository

just a general waring about the modified 1805! I just updated to 1805 this morning on my P8Z77-V and have run into some issues with AppleUSBEHCI. I tried different bios settings but could not get back into ML anymore. I reverted to 1616 and all is back to normal. I dont now if 1708 works...

Loosing wifi after wake from sleep 10.7.4 - TL-WDN8400

Hi, I have changed my system, which btw, works like a charm. Thanks to samisnake and the wonders of Bios-hacking. But the problem still remains. After waking the machine from sleep, the TP-Link4800 sees all my networks but times out when I try to connect. So I alwys have to reboot to make...

Loosing wifi after wake from sleep 10.7.4 - TL-WDN8400

Hi, I have this TP-Link WDN4800 PCIe card since yesterday, and it is working very nicely. The only major drawback is that I loose the wifi connection after I wake Lion from sleep. It does not seem to find any networks at all. The only thing that helps is rebooting the system. Disable/Enable...

Huge News! Gigabyte UEFI Sleep/Wake with NO DSDT! [TESTING]

Sorry but, I read it on the german official gigabyte forums here http://forum.gigabyte.de/index.php?page ... eadID=5901 . But glad to hear it is possible, I really want to upgrade to Ivy-Bridge, but I dont want to spend too much money as I will probably resell the CPU when Haswell comes out.

Huge News! Gigabyte UEFI Sleep/Wake with NO DSDT! [TESTING]

Apparently, the DS3H gives you no option to change the Vcore of the Cpu (just like the D3H) only the U and X versions give you that option. So that board, sadly is of little to no use to overclockers. That is basically the reason why I would not want that board. Also the ud5h is way to...

    Asus 1155 Patched BIOS Repository

Hi, I am planning on building a new hack. Will there be support for ASUS Z77 bioses, like there is for MSI? (f.e. ASUS P8Z77-V LE) ASUS seems to be the only good choice right now, as Gigabyte does not allow for voltage control on the DS3H boards, the UD5H being way to expensive for me, and the...

Networking Issues / Solutions for 10.6.8

For my Asus WL-138G v2 PCI WLan I used this solution: I used an old smbios.plist and added <key>SMboardproduct</key> <string>Mac-F42C88C8</string> Mac-F42C88C8 is the model number of MacPro 3,1, which I use. This also made my system wake from sleep properly again, which was also broke by...

    10.6.8-ASUS WL-138G V2 PCI WLAN card doesn't work anymore

I have the same problem, but no solution until now. I tried the latest chimera update, deleting devices etc. nothing helped. I am using my iPhone as a wlan usb adapter atm. :(

    Best Quiet Graphics Card?

I have an 6870 XFX Dual Fan Black edition and it is very very quiet. But I think thats a bit too much for your needs. Maybe a 5770 would be best suited for your needs? A 5770 silent cell perhaps? It is very big so a look at the dimensions and the space in your case would be good before buying.

    Gtx 470 Cinebench results

Look at this chart and do the math: Taken from here: http://macperformanceguide.com/Reviews-MacProWestmere-Cinebench.html They do test an 5870 which can be about 10% faster or on par with the 470 GTX, depending on the benchmark/game you are running so this should be comparable. In OSX...

10.6.7 Native ATi 5xxx/6xxx Cards which work (and don't)

Hmm, those numbers are not very high indeed. I still think your gfx card is limited due to your CPU. There does not seem to be anything wrong with your installation, but you could try to specify a different framebuffer in your boot.plist. I dont know which one works best for your card, but...

10.6.7 Native ATi 5xxx/6xxx Cards which work (and don't)

Cinebench is very CPU limited. If you are running the 5870 alongside your Celeron e3300, than the score could be right. Run Xbench with only "Quarz Graphics Test", "OpenGL Test" and "User Interface Test". And post the results.

10.6.7 Native ATi 5xxx/6xxx Cards which work (and don't)

The performance is exactly the same for every 6870 in here which ever method they use. The only differences in cinebench scores are due to processor speed and overclock. The low cinebench score compared to windows is not due to the installation method but it's due to how OSX handles grafics...

10.6.7 Native ATi 5xxx/6xxx Cards which work (and don't)

Same card as freituk: Brand= XFX Model= HD-687A-ZDBC 1GB DDR5 aka Black Edition Dual Fan (OC) Device ID= ID=0x6738 Multibeast= 3.5.2, Extracted only ATi 1.6.32.12, Chimera 1.1 (via pacifist) Method= Chimera 1.1 (uses Andy's fix), GE=yes Framebuffer= Autodetect, so not needed, but probably...

10.6.7 Native ATi 5xxx/6xxx Cards which work (and don't)

So you get to the same conclusion as me yesterday. People must stop using cinebench as a benchmark for gfx cards. It's totally useless. Is there even a proper gfx benchmark for OSX, except playing some games?

Sapphire Radeon HD 6870 work!!! FULL QE/CI

My CPU score is 4.28 And I repeat, GPU score is 34.99 EDIT: And just to be sure, also benched my card downclocked to 300Mhz (powerplay minimal clock) and it still gives me a GPU score of 41 in Cinebench. Compared to bones123 results, this shows pretty much what we thought. Cinebench is...

Sapphire Radeon HD 6870 work!!! FULL QE/CI

Maybe, it's simply because you've got a nicely overclocked and more modern CPU and the Cinebench 11.5 benchmark depends on CPU speed? I really dont know. I get 59.65 in Windows 7, and 34.99 in OSX, both in Cinebench 11.5 my CPU is fast but it's also aging. I've benched my 6870 pretty throughly...
