G5 case interior dimensions.

Hey guys. I'm in the planning stages of my case conversion and I could use some help. I've looked high and low, across this forum and others, but can't find any concrete data on the size the inner cage of the case. I don't have a physical case in front of me yet so I can't measure it myself and I need some data for my SketchUp model.

Specifically I'm looking for the following:

Height:.
Width:
Depth:
Distance from the ceiling to the HDD/DVD drive shelf:

Bonus info if anyone knows:
Thickness of the aluminum (honeycomb portion, front & rear)
Size of the holes on the front & rear

Thanks!

Overall height is 20 inches.
Body height is 17 /3/8 inches (height less the handle loops).
Width is 8 1/16 inches.
Depth is 18 11/16 inches.
Ceiling to shelf is approximately 3 1/4 inches.
Front and rear panel material thickness is 0.060 inches.
The mesh hole size is 0.119 inches.
The side wall thickness is 0.125 inches

Wow that looks just beautiful! If you can pull that off and keep the basic looks and the build quality of the original computer it would be one of the most beautiful computers i have ever seen!. Very interested!

Nice concept. Find a non-op G5 PowerMac system that is in very good condition if you can as this will provide many of the bits that you might want to re-purpose. And when you have one right in front of you, you can see the problem set and better visualize your solutions.

I have really enjoyed the PowerMacs and Mac Pros that I have worked with/on.

Thanks. I don't feel like I'm going to be doing anything ground breaking with this. Only way I think I deviate away from the general G5 modding theme is that I'm not going to have an optical drive.

Well it could be good. But if you really want to be groundbreaking, try to keep the quality of the mod high. I have seen allot of PowerMac G5 cases that do look good from the outside, but when you see them from the inside they are just a mes. The front USB most of the time doesn't work and all that stuf. Hope you can do better! Good Luck!

Thanks! That's the goal. Clean, professional, OEM appearance both inside and out. I feel like (and this isn't meant to be taken negatively) that since most G5 builds are for Hackintoshs, their primary goal is a mac-like exterior and the interior is forgotten about. My build's primary goal is a gaming PC and I'd like both the exterior and interior to be pretty as well as functional.
