I'm still researching my options for building my first hackintosh. I'm building a workstation for heavy photo+video editing. I currently work from a Macbook Pro 15 Retina.

I'm leaning towards a i7-5820K + Asus X99 setup at the moment. One of my current hang-ups in thunderbolt. I use several thunderbolt devices, the most important being my 24Tb G-Tech G-Speed Studio, which is a thunderbolt raid enclosure. I run my drives in RAID 5 and connect to my laptop. This stores all my photos+footage.

Is the Asus X99 motherboard + the ThunderboltEX II add-on card going to work for me here? Am I missing something? I've been searching and searching, but I'm unclear on info. Thanks

I mentioned this in my other thread, but since I'm not finding anything conclusive about thunderbolt, I think I'm going to discontinue use of my 24Tb G-Tech G-Speed Studio and move the drives into my case and run an internal RAID 5 config using the Highpoint 2720SGL PCI-E card.

The drives I have are 4 x WD 6Tb NAS Red

Any thoughts on that or should I be good to go?
