I'm having several troubles updating to 10.11.4 my msi x99 sli plus krait edition, i7 5820k and 970gtx. I have swaped to osxaptiofix2, and it sometimes boots, and other times does not work. If I try to boot with mac pro 6.1 SMBIOS, I get black screen. I've applied the mac pro 6.1 fix to AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy.kext but without success. If I try to boot with mac pro 3.1, screen is OK, but I need the 6.1 smbio to get perfect power management.

Is so strange... Sometimes, even with osxaptiofix2 installed, I can't boot. Clover shows me an osxaptiofix error... Sometimes, it boots ok.

Here you are the error in a photo.

I think is a bug with test2.efi, which is necessary in x99 systems to boot ok. I really don't know how to fix it, because x99 systems are different than the rest, and I didn't find nobody with similar build and 10.11.4 installed.

EDIT: blank screen with macpro6.1 smbios fixed. I just used AGDPfix.app from http://www.tonymacx86.com/graphics/...ro-6-1-imac-15-imac-17-system-definition.html Now audio is 100% working again. I just need to fix the boot, because it sometimes doesnt work and stuck with osxaptionfix allocated memory error.

Clover has a FixDrv2 file in the UEFI64drv folder that you can put in your EFI folder. I believe the error message you see is caused by having FixDrv file. You might need the version 2 file.

No, I swaped the FixDrv to FixDrv2. Right now I have FixDrv2 in efi folder, see in the image. I think the problem is test2.efi, which is a driver that fix an error in x99 systems.

I'm seeing a similar issue with my Z97 based system where only 1/5 or 1/6 posts the system will boot normally. I suspect it's timing related, but I'm seeing the same error as you (error allocating pages..) I've tried every possible boot option and makes no difference (other than creating more instability.)

I'm thinking of playing with the bios settings next as I'm out of ideas (even though everything was rock solid and working just fine for 10.11.3 and prior.)

Let me know what you've tried so far thanks.

Test2.efi is essentially a hacked version of OsxOptioFix2Drv-64.efi written by Nick Woodhams (see link below). As such, you cannot have Test2 and Fix2Drv both active at the same time. I would suggest removing Test2 and trying again (or vice versa).

The crux of the problem has to do with bugs related to how X99 systems allocate memory when they encounter multiple PCI cards. Do you have 2 or more installed? If so and if possible, try removing them temporarily until you just have 1 (e.g. your graphics card) and see if your system will boot.

No, you are wrong. The test2.efi is a hacked version of Osxlowmemfix, that works with osxaptiofix v1 installed. Just read the url you told us. I tried yesterday to remove test2.efi and it didn't work for me.

Hey man - how did you get the audio working on the X99? Ive tried everything and still cant get it to work...

First, you need to configure clover to disable SIP completely (67 instead of 3 in config.plist, search in google where to place it), then, you have to run toleda aucio alc 100 command script, and reboot. Then it should work. If the scripts says you don't have native applehda, install alc 1150 from multibeast and retry it.

Ok. I've tried rehabman's modified osxaptionfix (128mb) with csr0x67 in config.plist and now boots is perfect again. But, after every reboot, icloud say that I have to set password again, so wired. I will work with it, but I will wait too to another solution.

alexmenn,

Have you found a solution for the osxaptionfix / iCloud error?

When you say you have to "set password again", you mean you have to enter your existing password, not create a new one...?

Thanks.
