About this Update:

You will have to restart after applying the update. Report your results here. Good luck!

I treat security updates like OS X updates. So, here's my recommended step by step way to update:
:ch: Repair Permissions using the Disk Utility on the drive to be updated;*
:ch: (Optional) Backup your current installation using Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper;
:ch: Use the Software Update to download and install the Security Update 2014-002;
:ch: Re-boot;
:ch: Repair Permissions again.
Done! :thumbup:

* You can use the Terminal instead of Disk Utility if you feel comfortable with a UNIX command:
Code:
sudo diskutil repairPermissions /

I installed it and upon restarting i ran into a kernel panic when at the apple logo screen booting up. so i just shut down the computer and when the mavericks loading bar came up i hit the arrow key to enable boot flags capability. and then typed in -v to see what the problem was and there was no problem. it booted up just fine for some reason after i typed in -v.

I'm on the core i7 4770k with gtx 760 gigabyte 4gb gddr5 and 16gb of patriot viper 3 ram clocked at 1600mhz and the z87x-ud5h motherboard from gigabyte. if any of you were wondering.

I just installed it and had exactly zero problems. It didn't even do the usual bork on my audio.

No problems here. Did a CCC just to be sure, but didn't need it.

I'm even running a "partial rollback" of 10.9.2 because of the issue 10.9.2 ATI drivers had with multiple displayports.

Installed, rebooted, no issues.

installed the security update.

No issue so far. (refer to my profile for build info).

TRIM is working without re-patch.
