Hi folks!

So, that's it, I'm done searching the web to find a suitable Bluetooth USB Adapter with HID Proxy Mode, that I can buy (I'm in France)...

So, please someone, if you have found it, let me know what model it is :)

Thanks ;)

Edit:

So, now I will try to report as many working Bluetooth Adapter as possible, which do HID Proxy Mode:

Tested Working in HID Proxy Mode:
1. Apple Built-in BT module
with mod to plug it in some USB 2.0 port -> The RIGHT way, but you've got to mod it
2. Belkin F8T016NG
isn't made anymore
3. Belkin F8T016CW
WORKS in HID Proxy Mode!
4. D-Link DBT-120
rev B1-B4 with Apple Firmware upgrade, and all rev C without any Firmware upgrade -> Hard to find, and BIG USB dongle

Tested NOT Working in HID Proxy Mode:
1. Belkin F8T065BF
2. RocketFish RF-MRBTAD

Other users reporting RF-MRBTAD is NOT working in HID Proxy Mode: http://www.amazon.com/Rocketfish-Bluetooth-Micro-Adapter-RF-BCDM4/dp/B0027AARP4

Please report back if you found some other ones!

If your HID Proxy Mode has been broken in some kind of way by Windows not releasing BT Receiver HCI Mode, see here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/network/109961-bluetooth-usb-adapter-hid-proxy-mode-2.html#post693257

If you want to be able using your mouse and/or trackpad and/or Apple wireless keyboard throughout OS X AND Windows without having to pair your devices each time you switch OS, see here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/general-h...gic-trackpad-magic-mouse-bluetooth-setup.html

By the way, to avoid breaking HID Proxy Mode when you pair your device at least once under Windows, please install Apple Drivers first.
To do so, Download Apple Boot Camp Windows Software on Apple website first.
Then extract it and copy/paste its content somewhere you can have access to with your Windows install, and to know what to install, see here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/network/109961-bluetooth-usb-adapter-hid-proxy-mode-3.html#post694294

And, finally, if you want to check for sure your adapter does support (or doesn't) HID Proxy Mode, try this -> http://www.tonymacx86.com/network/109961-bluetooth-usb-adapter-hid-proxy-mode-4.html#post697128

Belkin Mini Bluetooth Adapter model F8T016NG
+ Works out of the box
+ Has HID proxy mode
+ Allows wake on BT keyboard
- Range, the devices and the adapter need to be kept pretty close to each other

There seems to be a new variant of this dongle F8T016CW at amazon.co.uk where I bought my F8T016NG which I suppose will work as well.
There is also a BT4.0 version available but I don't know if it will work at all.

Hi, thanks for the answer!

Are you sure the F8T016cw has also the HID Proxy Mode which would allow me to use my Apple Wireless Keyboard in BIOS, and in Bootloader?

I still could try it, it would cost me about 20€ to get one...

I bought 2 Bluetooth adapters:
- Rocketfish RF-MRBTAD
- Belkin F8T016CW

I've seen those two CAN work in HID Proxy mode, let's hope that's REALLY the case.

Indeed, please report back if that is the case. By the way, do you know what is the chipset manufacturer for the Rocketfish adapter?

No problem, they're on their way ;)
I should receive both of 'em shortly.

I'm not sure what chip they're using, but I'll be able to tell when they arrive and I plug them in ^^
I would like to report as many BT USB Adapters working in HID Proxy mode as possible.

So far, looks like there are already 3 Adapters that work for sure with HID Proxy Mode:

1. Apple Built-in BT module, with mod to plug it in some USB 2.0 port -> The RIGHT way, but you've got to mod it
2. Belkin F8T016NG -> isn't made anymore
3. D-Link DBT-120 rev B1-B4 with Apple Firmware upgrade, and all rev C without any Firmware upgrade -> Hard to find, and BIG USB dongle

That's why I chose the Belkin F8T016CW and Rocketfish RF-MRBTAD, 'cause they both are small, and easier to find :)

Edit: By the way, I own the 4.0 Belkin USB Adapter, it's the F8T065BF, and I can confirm it works with proper plist modification in IOBluetoothFamily.kext, but doesn't have HID Proxy Mode :(

Oooohhhhh Yeeeahhhhh! :headbang:

I just received the Belkin F8T016CW and I can confirm it WORKS in HID Proxy Mode!
So, I can get rid of the Belkin F8T065BF which doesn't :lolno:

So far:
1. Apple Built-in BT module

Hi and thanks for your efforts in listing compatible adapters.
Did you try the Rocketfish RF-MRBTAD? I'm unable to find the F8T016CW here in the US :(
