I'm actually running a 2009 MBP. It isn't equipped with USB 3, but I've been using an expresscard 34 with 2 USB 3 ports. I've relied on MultiBeast for the last couple of years through the multiple OS X updates to install a working USB 3 driver. Since the Yosemite update, the driver no longer works for this particular setup.
Just letting you guys know.

I have the same problem on my 2008 Macbook Pro.

Just to check that is not the USB 3.0 Expresscard, I booted the Macbook in both OS X Snow Leopard and Lion. It works perfectly with these earlier versions, so it seems that the USB driver is not compatible with Yosemite. I am running the released version, Build 14A389.

Thank you MacMan.

Thanks, Looking forward.

There seems to be something wrong, as it is not working.

Version 7.0.0 DID load the PCI USB 3.0 driver (shown in System Report) but did not work.

Version 7.0.1 did NOT load the PCI USB 3.0 driver at all, and does not work.

I notice that the "Date Modified" on the created kext is 8 Sept - is that right?

I don't think I am doing anything stupid but I would never rule out that possibility. :)

The issue is that development has ceased on that kext and he only did a Yosemite build as a courtesy.

I'm not sure if there is a solution for unsupported USB3 controllers in Yosemite.

OK, thanks for looking at it. I will report back if I find a solution.
