Error: the partition table format in use on your disks normally requires you to create a separate partition for boot loader code.

750GB Western Digital
GUID Partition Table for Quart-Boot(4)
1. EFI (hidden)
2. Wind7 (MS Dos FAT formatting) 215GB
3. Wind10 (MS Dos FAT formatting) 215GB
4. Linux (MS Dos FAT formatting) 70GB sda4
5. LinuxSwap (MS Dos FAT formatting) 8192MB = 8.192GB sda5
6. Macintosh HD 240GB sda6

Device for boot loader installation = sda4

I am using legacy installation, my desktop main board does not support UEFI.

If I force it to continue, it does finish successful but I can't boot into Ubuntu. Using clover boot loader.

Sometimes it stops at: creating ext4 file system for /in partition #4 of SCSI1 (0,0,0) (sad)....

I used: https://racerrehabman.wordpress.com...indows-8-mac-os-x-lion-and-ubuntu-multi-boot/

"The partition table format in use on your disks normally requires you to create a separate partition for boot loader code. This partition should be marked for use as a "reserved BIOS boot area" and should be at least 1 MB in size. Note that this is not the same as a partition mounted on /boot. If you do not go back to the partitioning menu and correct this error, boot loader installation may fail later, although it may still be possible to install the boot loader to a partition"

I ignored this message, and now i cant boot into ubuntu partition. It my first time experiencing this error, help.

Try boot using live Ubuntu DVD and install Grub2 to the Ubuntu root partition via terminal and see if that works.

This error message does not go away. Maybe it is a hard drive but it is my first time experiencing this challenge but I decide to leave it. Western Digital 750, it is a thing that i have recently changed since 2015 & I also switched to clover boot loader and I didn't try Linux since then. But i regard it as a failed research. Thanks..if i need to try it I will add extra HDD. Cheers..

When you finished installing Linux distro did you run gptsynch to synch the PBRs of the HDD to the MBR? This is usually the step that is forgotten and without it either Linux will not boot or Linux will be only thing that boots.

I am familiar with the Ubuntu Linux Installation:
I used to install it on partition 5 of the GUID partition table (1. EFI, 2. Mac HDD, 3. wind7, 4. wind8.1, 5. Ubuntu)

normally i start with creating a GUID partition table then, install Mac OS X immediately.

2. Install Ubuntu, ensuring Grub is installed on partition 5, then after reboot. I boot into linux to do Gyptsync, so that i can install windows.

3. Install windows.

The problem is that i get a new error:
before it start installing linux, when i click continue to start error pops up:
"The partition table format in use on your disks normally requires you to create a separate partition for boot loader code. if i ignore and force it to proceed, it does finish and i click restart, but after reboot it does not load Ubuntu it stops at and show error.

This must be something happening in the code of the latest installers. I have not attempted to install on same drive with OS X/Windows installs in a couple of years. Quit doing it because of update problems. Today I use a Kinwin hotswap bay and have separate drives for each OS and swap drives in the bay when I want to boot a different OS. Link to the bay is in the buyer's guide.
