System specs:
Asus Maximus VII Gene
Intel Core i5-4690k
Corsair Dominator Platinum 8GB
2x Samsung 840 EVO 250GB
no graphics card installed
Hey all,
I've been trying for the past few hours to get Yosemite running on my computer. I successfully set up a Hackintosh back around 2010/2011 (I think using Uni/Multibeast), so I had some sense of what I was doing, and I really wanted to try out Yosemite.
I pulled an 840 EVO from my HTPC for the install specifically for the purpose of leaving my Windows drive alone. I started out trying Clover but it seemed way more complicated than I was comfortable with, so I switched over to Tonymac's guide using Uni/Multibeast.
The first time I booted (from USB) I got an error that was remedied by booting with -v and -x. I formatted the SSD per the instructions, installed, and booted into Yosemite. Lo and behold, everything was working perfectly. Keyboard, mouse, and LAN all worked on boot without me touching anything. Audio didn't work but I didn't expect it to because the Gene has a custom card from Asus.
So I ran Multibeast, selected DSDT-free. I left all drivers unchecked. I enabled a few things in the Customize section (that I maybe shouldn't have?) I rebooted and nothing worked anymore, not my keyboard, mouse or LAN. (Safari launched on boot and couldn't connect to network) I also noticed some weird graphical glitches at certain moments during the login process.
No problem. I messed around with it for a good while before I ran Multibeast so I checked out what I wanted to check out for the most part. Unfortunately, when I try to boot into Windows from Chimera or Chameleon or whatever I am getting an error:
File: BootBcd
Status: 0xc000000e
Info: The Boot Configuration Data for your PC is missing or contains errors.
I've tried some stuff mentioned in this thread: http://www.tonymacx86.com/windows/82521-error-while-booting-windows-dual-boot-separate-drives.html
like disabling the Mac install drive in the BIOS and forcing it to boot from the Windnows drive, but that results in a black screen for a few seconds before returning me to BIOS. Any ideas? I'm preparing a recovery USB disk now to try and repair the bootloader but I have a feeling it's not going to work
