Hi
I'm going to buy a new laptop:
HP EliteBook 2570p
Anyone ever tried to install OS X on this HP model?
I would like to know before buying, as this model has many extra features (fingerprint reader, smartcard reader, gsm module, gps and so on)
Many thanks guys

I tried with 10.8.2 using unibeast. Had no success. While booting to installer, screen becomes black and nothing happens next.
Different boot flags didn't solve that.

But i never installed OS X on laptop before, only on desktop. Maybe i did something wrong.

Did anyone ever get this working ?
i am having the same issue with the black screen after boot.

I also have problems with hd4000 graphics

I found only one way to avoid black screen - use GraphicsEnabler=no, but anyway there are problems with wrong screen resolution.

Finally i had a little success with 2570p and ML 10.8.4.

I was able to make work properly following hardware:
  • Intel HD4000 video (with QE/CI, external outputs untested)
  • All of the USB ports
  • Sleep mode!
  • Ethernet
  • Webcam

But there are still some problems with
  • CPU power management (i don't think that 51 degree (C) is normal temperature for laptop which just showing desktop, no other tasks)
  • Audio, even with last version of VoodooHDA sound card is not being detected
  • Wi-Fi (i think it's easier to swap wireless adapter with compatible one)
  • Bluetooth
  • Touchpad and trackpoint

I performed many different actions before i got to all of this, and there are no any guide yet. When i'll have most (or even all) hardware managed to work, i'll perform clean installation to write detailed guide, if it'll be needed for someone.

Now i just have to say that most important things were patched DSDT and patches from ProBook team.
I have attached a screenshot below.

Hy rzzz,

Any news regarding your ML 10.8.4 installation on the HP 2570p?

I can`t find any DSDT and/or patches anywhere :(
(ProBook Team?)

Could you please post your DSDT and/or links where you found them?

Thanks a lot :)

Just follow this guide: http://www.tonymacx86.com/hp-probook/83076-hp-probook-6470b.html

Here is my selection in ProBook Installer:
* OS X support kexts\4x40s support kexts
* DSDT ...\ProBook...\4x40s Ivy
* DSDT ...\Fan behavior\Readings only
* DSDT ...\Display type\Low resolution
* SSDT generator
* System definitions\i3/i5 Ivy Bridge
* Chameleon r2255
* Optional hard...\EDID generator
* Misc OS X fixes\Color profiles
* Misc OS X fixes\Sleep fix\Sleep image fix (Just if you have an SSD like me)

After doing this do not reboot until you installed the four kexts from the guide above (AppleHDA, Intel...Capri, Bluetooth, IntelE1000)

That's it. Fully working 2570p 10.8.4 (except WiFi).

If you want to update to 10.8.5 you need to do the following to get all working:
* Reinstall ProBook installer like above (except Chameleon)
* Reinstall the four kexts
* Install IOBluetoothFamily.kext from 10.8.4

Now you have fully working 10.8.5!

Have fun.

UPDATE:
Just use this for Mavericks:
