ALC269 Device Detected But No Sound

Hi,

I used one of the kext on Osx86 and i edited DSDT accordingly as said on that post ..

My audio device is detected and a sound icon appears in menu bar.. but there is no sound when playing songs..

when i plug-in headphones , it changes to headphones in Sound but no sound at all...

Is there a solution for that ??

BTW i am on 10.8.5

It could be a lot of different things:
- from what version of OS X is the AppleHDA? It may be too old and incompatible.
- are you sure your codec is Realtek ALC296? Verify by doing codec dump in Linux.
- something could be wrong with your DSDT patch.
- the AppleHDA could be patched incorrectly.
- you may need an IRQ fix patch to DSDT (for example, ProBook audio does not work without it). See my laptop patch repo: https://github.com/RehabMan/Laptop-DSDT-Patch
- repair permissions & rebuild cache to be sure you're using the AppleHDA

Post your AppleHDA.kext and your DSDT if you want me to look...

- The AppleHDA you have calls for layout-id=269 { 0x0d, 0x01, 0x00, 0x00 }
- Your DSDT is using layout-id=28 { 0x1c, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00 }
- The AppleHDA is very old. From Lion. I don't know if a Lion AppleHDA will work on ML. Are you running ML?

This has the layout files from the AppleHDA you posted along with the AppleHDAHardwareConfigDriver data, but with patched AppleHDA form 10.8.5 (12F45). DSDT has been changed to use layout-id=269.
