I just got a Lenovo S400 and I am attempting to install ML on it, I have my USB flash drive configured and I have changed the BIOS from UEFI to Legacy support otherwise it doesnt see the USB flash drive, also I have made sure the SATA is set to AHCI, however it wont boot and this is the screen I get when I boot verbose. Any ideas what this means?

What method did you use to create your USB flash drive?

You know thats a good question because I created this awhile ago following the instructions on this site however I may have modified it for my HP Probook, so I am going to create a new one from scratch and see how that goes.

Ok I redid my USB flash drive and I am now booted into 10.8.2 but my ethernet is not working, it shows up in networking but the port on my switch blinks on and off, it my be that the port on my switch it hard coded to gigabit but I'll have to look into that later.

Now with multibeast what options am I going to choose? Someone sais in another thread that this laptop has the ahteros chipset for wireless and that it would be simple to get it working with a DSDT injection, how does that work?

First thing is to find out what kind of hardware your laptop actually has, not based on hear-say from others. Why guess at it when you have the hardware right there?

Use Windows Device Manager or Linux 'lspci -nn'. Or you might try DPCIManager on OS X (never used it...)

Ok I used DPCI manager and it tells me that I have the following:

Realtek ethernet RTL8105E however it also mentioned RTL8101E/RTL8102E

Raylink RT3090

Is Raylink supported under OSX?

Audio appears to be intel which is not good. C210?

0x80861E20 sub device 0x17AA3977

Ok I tried adding some things in multibeast, see attachment, no good crashed on boot up.

However now, when I boot off my flash drive again, my trackpad does not work, nor do the two USB 2 ports so I cant chose utilities to format my disk!!!

Only my USB 3 port works to boot off my flash drive.

If it helps the USB flash drive I was using is a USB3 flash drive, curiously it will only boot properly in the single USB 3 port, however I am currently building another USB boot drive on a 32GB USB2 drive, we'll see if that will work in the USB2 ports, otherwise I have no idea how to proceed.

What now?

There are at least 4 realtek kexts for you to try:
lnx2mac's RealtekRTL81xx.kext
slice's RealtekR1000SL.kext
Mieze's RealtekRTL8100.kext
and the official Realtek version (I'm not sure the name - have never used it)

No, you'll want to look at replacing it.

I'm pretty sure almost any audio codec can be handled by patched AppleHDA, but for some of the rare ones you'll have to patch it yourself (which is fairly involved). You'll need a codec dump from Linux to give you more google search terms... Maybe you'll get lucky and find an AppleHDA already patched for a different Lenovo that happens to use the same codec. C210 is a generic term for Intel's chipset, I think...

OMG this is beyond frustrating!!! I cannot understand why when I boot from a flash drive (I have two now, one USB3 and one USB2) my trackpad does not work. I am UNABLE to format the drive now because my two USB2 ports don't work if anything is plugged into them. I have been through the BIOS a zillion times, nothing has changed. I am at a total loss, I don't know what to do next. I have tried reinstalling ML but its no use, I need to format the drive, I guess i'll have to physically remove it but thats a total pain.

Boot what? The installer or your installation on the HDD? It is very possible that you have installed conflicting kexts compared to the kexts that are in /Extra/Extensions on the USB drive. Or that you have no PS2 kexts at all installed anywhere (depends on what options you chose when you created the Unibeast USB).

What drive are you trying to format? What doesn't work about your USB2 ports? Does it notice that media is loaded in Disk Utility? Did you try booting with USBBusFix=Yes?
