Hello, I try to install Mountain Lion on a SSD, but after restart I am stuck here:

Something seems to be wrong with Bluetooth? Any help greatly appreciated!

my system:
Gigabyte GA-Z77N-WIFI
i7-3770
16GB RAM
Zotac GTX 650

Stuck at Apple Logo with Spinning Wheel

Alright, so I can't seem to be able to recreate that first error. However what I now get is this:

I tried -v PCIRootUID=0 GraphicsEnabler=No, but I always get stuck at the same line:

Code:
[IOBluetoothHCIController::setConfigState] calling registerService

Stuck at Apple Logo with Spinning Wheel

I now managed to boot Mountain Lion with -x and I was able to do the MultiBeast Installation. But I still get stuck at the same line when trying to boot:

[IOBluetoothHCIController::setConfigState] calling registerService

So I now switched off the VT-d in BIOS and get this after loading with -v:

The almighty grey-screen.

I don't know what to do now.. Any suggestions?

This is my first post from the new system. I think I made it!!!!! Woohooooo!!!:mrgreen::mrgreen:

Just for reference this is my complete System:

(Built using the CustoMac Mini Deluxe Guide - February 2013)

  • Gigabyte GA-Z77N-WIFI (1155)
  • Intel i7-3770 3,4GHz
  • Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 16GB DDR3
  • Zotac NVIDIA GTX 650 2GB RAM
  • SanDisk Extreme 120GB SSD
  • Corsair TXM 650 Watt ATX

And this is the MultiBeast 5.2.1 configuration that I used:

I have one question however: my graphic card identified as NVIDIA D14P1-30 2048 MB, does this mean that my graphic card is not properly installed?

FIXED IT by following this thread: http://www.tonymacx86.com/graphics/74937-gtx-650-recognized-nvidia-d14p1-30-issue.html

Solution: You have to install the latest Quadro & GeForce drivers for Mac, I used this link: http://www.nvidia.com/object/macosx-304.00.05f02-driver.html

I now finally managed to install a Dual-Boot solution on ONE SSD with Windows 8 + Mountain Lion on my System!!!!! All thanks to texts that I gathered around this awesome site! In case other people have the same setup as I do (and also for future reference), here is what I did:

  • Load Optimized Defaults in BIOS
  • Deselect VT-d in BIOS
  • Boot using the Mountain Lion / UniBeast USB-Stick
  • Use the Disk Utility in order to create 2 Partitions.
First: Macintosh / MacOS Extended (Journaled)
    Second: Windows / FAT32.
Click on Options and make sure GUID Partition Table (GPT) is selected)
  • Boot using a Linux Live USB Stick
  • open the terminal and run the following commands:
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install gptsync
    sudo apt-get install gparted
this will install the two programs you will need for the next step
  • run the following command:
    sudo gparted
Delete the Windows / FAT32 Partition. Click Apply
Create a new Partition Windows / NTFS. Click Apply
  • run the following command:
    sudo gptsync /dev/sda
(Note: /dev/sda is the target drive)
  • Shut down the Computer and disconnect the USB Sticks, make sure only one Hard Drive is connected.
  • Start the Computer. Go to BIOS and deselect UEFI as Boot-mode (select Legacy Mode)
  • Make sure that the Hard Drive is set as primary boot device (DVD second)
  • Insert Windows 8 DVD and start installation
when asked where to install, select the Windows / NTFS partition (should be the third partition).
    Install.
  • :beachball:
  • Boot Using the Mountain Lion / UniBeast USB Stick
  • When asked where to install, you are probably unable to select the Macintosh Partition that you prepared earlier.
  • Open Disk Utility (again).
    Erase the Macintosh Partition.
Create a new Macintosh / MacOS Extended (Journaled) Partition
    Close Disk Utility
  • Install OS X
  • :beachball:
  • Boot using the Mountain Lion / UniBeast USB Stick.
NOTE: When installing El Capitan or newer, Go to BIOS and select UEFI+Legacy as Boot-mode FIRST!
Select your new Macintosh installation and boot with following parameters:
    boot -x
  • Your new OS X installation should now boot directly from the hard drive.
  • Open Safari.
    Download MultiBeast for Mountain Lion.
Launch the program using these options:
    - UserDSDT or DSDT-Free installation
    - Drivers & Bootloaders / Drivers / Audio / Realtek ALC8xx / Without DSDT / ALC892
    - Network / Realtek - Lnx2Mac's RealtekRTL81xx v.0.0.90
    - Bootloaders / Chimera
    - Customization / Bootoptions / GraphicsEnabler=No
    - Customization / Bootoptions / 1080p Display (Use only if you have a monitor with native 1080p resolution)
  • The Lnx2Mac Network Installation should pop up.
    Install.
  • Disconnect the USB Drive.
  • Reboot.
Chimera will now boot OS X automatically.
If you want to load Windows instead, press any key. Select Windows and hit enter.
  • In OS X you will need to install your graphics card.
You have to install the latest Quadro & GeForce drivers for Mac, I used this link: http://www.nvidia.com/object/macosx-...02-driver.html
  • Connect all other hard drives.
  • Done.

How great that it actually worked! Looking forward to using my new computer :mrgreen::mrgreen:

great post.

I have a question, how did you passed "[IOBluetoothHCIController::setConfigState] calling registerService" error.
I can't get pass it.

Please let me know, thanks!

Hey, sorry for the late reply!

As mentioned I deselected V-TD in BiOS! After that the message was gone.

Hope it helps!
