Hello everyone,This is my first time putting a hack together, and although iv had help from lots of people who have done this before, we just can't get this machine to work. Here are the specs:
  • Gigabyte Z77x-UP5 TH BIOS Version F11 dated Sep 3 2012 (I am begining to think this is the problem, all build that i've seen were on F4)
  • Intel i7 3.4Ghz Ivy Bridge
  • Asus GTX 660 (NOT the Ti model!)
  • Corsair Vengeance 16gb RAM
  • Seagate Momentous XT 750GB Hybrid Drive
I've followed the complete guide to the letter and still cant get anywhere:http://www.tonymacx86.com/mountain-...rbolt-updated-10-8-2-multibeast-5-2-a-30.htmlIv tried with the graphics card plugged in, taken out, in every possible combination of boot commands of -x -s -v -F -f and the furthest iv bin is (without the graphics card) installed Mountain Lion using Unibeast, successfully Installed drivers with Multi Beast following another detailed build (each individual driver was selected as per the build - iv lost the link tho-), installed chimera came to reboot, and then the whole thing failed. Im out of ideas here, please help!

*** Iv tried starting from scratch:
  • Graphics card installed
  • Booting from UniBeast with the following commands (-v -x -s GraphicsEnabler=No)
I get this screen Boot Screen.jpg

llo with an i7 3770 should be disabled the VT-d in bios
it is not marked in the guide by them that it uses a i7 3770k

My extra folder for i7 3770, HDMI audio

The 660 does not work straight out of the box, take it out and get a working OSX install first using the HD4000 graphics from your CPU.

1) Build without the 660 installed

2) Get ML working using unibeast/multibeast and the internal HD4000 graphics

3) Download the Nvidia drivers: http://www.nvidia.com/object/macosx-...02-driver.html
4) Add GraphicsEnabr=No to org.boot.chameleon.plist

5) Switch off and install the 660.

6) Restart and your 660 will be working.

it seems to me that the drivers and older generation video card

The new generation of video card 6xx series KEPLER did not need drivers worked for

Actually the 660/650Ti is a Kepler, based on the GK106 chip. It's just that it came out after 10.8.2 was released, so it's not nativately supported, you need newer drivers to get it to work, either from NVidia or the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro Update 2.0. I recommend that evryone should install the Update 2.0, it also adds native Intel 7 Series Chipset support.

was ok .... putting in the Mac mini 6,2 smbios you can do these updates

Don´t forget to disable Internal CPU PLL Overvoltage to avoid mouselag (USB) and warning about USB device not unmountet correctly after wake from sleep.

I don't have that problem on the Z77, maybe that's something with the Z68.
