Motherboard
Dell Latitude E7240 (Clover UEFI)
CPU
i7-4600U / Intel Haswell-ULT Rev 0B
Graphics
Intel HD 4400, 1366x768
Mac
  1. iMac
  2. MacBook Pro
Mobile Phone
  1. iOS
Components
Motherboard: GA-B75M-D3P (initially came with BIOS F3, finally was able to upgrade to F5)
CPU: i7-3770 (3.4GHz Ivy Bridge i7 quad-core with HD4000 integrated graphics)
Memory: 2 x 8GB Corsair Vengeance DIMMs (1600MHz)
Disks:
Intended root drive: Samsung 830 series 128GB SSD (at P0, the only motherboard SATA3 port)
Western Digital Caviar Black 2TB drive (connected to SATA port 6, Marvell GSATA, SATA3 port)
This currently has two partitions: part1, 30GB, NTFS, Win7 Pro 32-bit; part2, rest of disk, HFS+, no OS
Case/PS: Athena Power RM-2U2022S558 with included 550W power supply

OS X: 10.8.2 downloaded from the App Store
UniBeast - Mountain Lion 1.5.3
MultiBeast - Mountain Lion 5.2.0

BIOS Settings (all the ones I can remember making):
F7 Optimized
SATA - AHCI
GSATA (Marvell SATA ports) - AHCI
Super IO Configuration - Disabled both serial ports as well as parallel port
Extreme Memory Profile - Profile 1 (I set this after seeing others setting it, but my memory was showing up at 1600MHz without it, not sure if I need it or there is any advantage to setting it)
Init Display First - IGFX
Internal Graphics - Enabled (Left at default of 64M memory)

Booting from the UniBeast created USB flash drive, stalls (see attached image "Boot from UniBeast USB Flash Drive.jpg"). Boots successfully using "-x".

Installed ML to the Samsung SSD and rebooted, stalls (see attached image "First Boot to SSD.jpg"). Boots successfully using "-x". Ran MultiBeast - Mountain Lion 5.2.0 and installed only "UserDSDT or DSDT-Free Installation". Restarted, stalls at the same point as "First Boot to SSD.jpg". Rebooted with "-x" and re-installed "UserDSDT or DSDT-Free Installation" and "Realtek - AppleRTL8169Ethernet". Restarted. Still stalls at the same point.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! This is my first attempted hackintosh build.

It now boots with no options!

However, I seem to have no sound on any output I try. I have no internal speaker in my case so can't test that one, there are two Line Outs listed in the Sound Pref Pane, neither of those seems to work and I can't yet test the optical out, I need to find a cable so I can connect it to my Denon receiver. I'm not sure where HDMI would show up in the output list, but I don't appear to be getting anything there either. I may need to move the server case close to where my old MacPro is so I can hijack some of the connections (like digital optical out).

Thanks much for the help so far and in advance for any additional help with my audio issues!

One further question, how do I know which drivers it's currently using? Will these show up in System Information? I haven't looked there yet as I need to get ready for my wife's work holiday party.

Before I made any change to the audio driver, I wanted to test to make sure what works and what doesn't (with driver v100302)

I moved the server to where I could connect various audio and video sources. I connected my external esata drives, installed some additional software and so far all is going well.

I'm a bit confused on what audio output listed in the Sound prefs pane corresponds to the actual audio device connections. I've attached some screenshots of the Sound prefs pane as well as the System Information app. The motherboard has the following connectors:
Rear panel:
1/8" stereo line out (pale green surround on the port)
S/PDIF optical audio connector
HDMI (which in theory should also be capable of carrying digital audio)
Internal:
Speaker pins in the F_PANEL header
F_AUDIO header (7.1 capable with HD front panel audio module)
S/PDIF audio header

So far, nothing that I've selected in the Output section of the Sound pref pane provides any audio over the HDMI connection. Selecting "Internal Speaker", sound comes out on the 1/8" Line Out jack on the back. Selecting "Digital Out", sound comes out via the S/PDIF optical connector on the back. The two "Line Out" choices don't seem to do anything (and I'm not sure with which connections these correspond).

Hmmmm, looking at a bit of the HDMI audio topic, it seems I need to edit the HDAEnabler.kext to change it to layout 3 for HDMI audio to function. I'll do more reading on how this should be done and hopefully give it a shot tomorrow.

Hey.

I was faced with the same problem. Solution from asusman - rollback to the old Kext. After an update it is a problem appear again. Interesting what the problem is.

Hey.

I was faced with the same problem. Solution from asusman - rollback to the old Kext. After an update it is a problem appear again. Interesting what the problem is.

So simply rolling back to the earlier kext like asusman suggested to me resolved the HDMI audio issue for you?

And then when you updated (from OS X 10.8.1 to 10.8.2 or some other update?) you had to re-apply this via MultiBeast?

I tested rolling back to v100202legacy. Removed HDAEnabler1.kext and AppleHDA.kext and then used MultiBeast to install v100202legacy. Ran permissions repair and rebooted. Opened Sound pref pane and there were no input options available and the only output options were my AirPlay devices.

Removed HDAEnabler1.kext and AppleHDA.kext again, ran MultiBeast and reinstalled the latest driver, ran permissions fix and rebooted. Successfully back to where I was.

Looks like I need to follow the directions for modifying the AppleHDA.kext to change from layout1 to layout3. I'm still trying to wrap my brain around the various different documents outlining these changes.

I'm having the same problem as you stated in your first post. What did you do to get it to boot?
