First, to avoid power management problems, go to http://biosrepo.wordpress.com/faq/ (thanks again, samisnake), download a patched BIOS and flash your board.
Boot your Windows machine and procede:

Then go to your new PC Mac - for this I am using a test setup - stilll researching a case to meet my needs with this board/CPU.

So, with the iBoot-Ivy-Bidge in the DVD-RW and the SL retail DVD handy, boot it up to BIOS and make our settings.

Save and exit and continue boot.

Well, I don't have a camera to do movies for youtube, so I used my Canon SLR.

Thanks for this, I used it to get my Msi z77a-gd65 and i5 3570k running rock solid. Only wakes with power button though, but apart from that it works great.
Thanks again.

One of those pages in the BIOS where you can set the "wake on.." settings has a wake on USB device IIRC that you can enable for using mouse/kb to wake it. I always use the control key.

Got it! But I think the custom hotkey option is for ps2 only.
I do have one more niggle I found, it has only happened twice so far but sometimes on a reboot the keyboard wont work until I unplug and plug back in again.
It's USB 2.0 in one of the mobo main back ports.

Use the 2 USB ports next to the PS2 socket for your mouse/KB. I put the KB on the one closest to the board and the mouse next to the PS2 socket. Never had a problem with either.

Main problem I have right now is a system lockup if I plug in a USB3.0 HDD, and a boot hang if I try to boot with the USB3.0 drive already connected, to either of the ports next to the network port.

Is it possible to do this using a thumb drive with iBoot instead of burning it to a CD?

Same question here
can this be done with just a thumb drive instead of a DVD?
Do we really need to install snow leopard and then upgrade to mountain lion, or we can go straight to 10.8?
everything works with this board?
